Any reason that Jesse was starting and not Rashford? Is it related to the injury he picked up in training?

Sterling is also really frustrating with his end product. Would like to see Dele playing a more advanced role, they need to get him in the box as he is a real goal scoring threat.

 

Russia vs Uruguay will be fun to decide who becomes first. Russia are actually looking pretty decent. They had far less problems with Egypt than Uruguay had.

 

After every team has played 1 group game, it couldn't have gone much better for Madrid players.

Only bad performance may be Kroos with Germany but he was definitely not the worst player for them. Still expect them to go through.

 

Becoming 2nd in their group means they will most likely meet up with Brasil in the next round. If Mexico can beat Germany, most probably they will beat Sweden and South Korea as well who don't look quite as formidable, so even if Germany win both their remaining games (which they should) they will have a dynomite game in the next round.

I'm worried about Senegal. I think they are legit. Japan got fortunate, but senegal looked great.


My only hope now is that Senegal comes into our game already qualified and lowers their guard.

 

Lingard starting and Rashford not was a tactical decision based on formation. One I disagree with and hopefully will be amended for the next game, though I am still yet to be convinced by Rashford. Sterling was poor, but usually is for England (no goal in 2 years). Alli got injured in the Tunisia game and is rumoured to be out of the next 1-2 matches.

I would expect to see Ruben Loftus-Cheek starting England's next match which I would be really pleased with. I really rate him, only a matter of time before he moves on from Palace imo
