Yeah I forgot to say you can switch Mario and Adrien for someone else in the CM.

3-0 Portugal and Ronaldo will actually share the scoring with Andre Silva.

Morocco has much to be proud about, but Wednesday they will get thrashed.

People actually think Spain will draw Iran. This group is down to goal diffs, this is a Portugal homer board so I can say this. Diego Costa better save La Roja because we will score.

If Spain pounds Iran 4-0 or something we have a small problem. Sooner or later the premier teams rock it.

No matter what, we have to get a win here. The 3 points is actually what's most important above all. Of course, if we can bang 5 goals and not concede, that'd be the cherry on the cake...

I'm hoping Santos goes with an attacking minded XI in order for us to control the game from the start and score early.

As Jonathan said earlier, I agree with a similar line-up:

    --------------------William---------------------
    -B.Silva---Bruno-------Mario----Guedes
    ---------------------CR7------------------------

This can do a lot of damage and I do trust Silva & Guedes to track back when they try and counter... Joao Mario, if chosen, HAS to play through the middle and not the wings. That's where he excels the most.

Can't believe we're playing tomorrow already!

TODOS UNIDOS, VAMOS EQUIPA!!! FORÇA PORTUGAL!!!!!

Anything short of a 2-0 result and I will be disappointed. We have to get off to a good start. Morocco will be playing desperate.

I would not be shocked to see the exact same lineup as the first game. Not saying that I want it, I dont

Yeah. I would not be all that shocked either if the exact same line up starts.

It is reported though via abola that Andre Silva will be starting.. so take that for whatever it is worth.. i am ok with this.

Look, they scored 3 goals v Spain.. this is nothing to look down on.. ofcourse.. giving up 3 is another issue, and Fernando Santos can try and fix this by inserting Ruben Dias..

from an offensive view point, we performed well, and the starting midfield/forwards may very well be rewarded with another start.

    We will see soon though.

This coach got us or first ever cup so I will cut him some major slack but in my humble opinion, when you score three goals, you dont change your forwards, when you allow three goals, you change your defense. Font is our weakest link by far.
On a side note, anyone else noticing how many keeper rebounds and defender clearances that are being sent right back to score areas instead of off to the side in this WC ?

Or maybe Joao Mario as part of the midfield quartet and Guedes paired with Ronaldo up front.

FS engineers the starting 11 according to the opponent. He didn't use the same starting eleven in 6 of the 7 Euro games.

Pepe is not far behind. He has certainly lost a step or two.

Agreed. He just looks out of shape to be honest more then anything.. hoping that he remains healthy (if he is even 100% healthy to begin with) and that his fitness level gets a bit better with more training..

I would actually like to see this if we face a tough opponent that has a strong midfield like Spain's. Have guys up front that can keep the ball and also have a stronger defensive midfield with William and Adrien.

If the game ended with a narrow win, I wouldn't be surprised. There will be more games ahead (hopefully), and pacing yourself is certainly a key in this kind of competition. The engineer having the team play the pedal to metal is as likely as seeing a smile on his face.
Moroccans' pressing capacities leaves to be desired and will provide a great opportunity for the youngsters to showcase their abilities.
