Those type of calls happen in the Libertadores all the time.

Yeah, it was disappointing to see people totally disregard Swiss due to pure ignorance about their team. People are basing their judgment on friendlies and qualifiers too. The World Cup is a different animal. The only thing that remotely compares is an official tournament like Copa America, and we didn’t get to see Tite coach that. I’m also seeing people overreact to this result in general, not just here at BigSoccer. Was 3-0 a possible scoreline? Sure, but it wasn’t the most likely. I was thinking 2-1. I knew it’d be a dog fight.

They did well to keep it only to one with how many advantage situations Mexico created in transition. Hummels and Boateng weren't the problems yesterday.

The Swiss are always a difficult outing in the WC. Just very solid defensively and they're crafty enough to find goals.

I thought it was more a case of Mexico not capitalizing. They should have had at least 3 goals. Chicharito should have scored his own goal when he was 1v1 with Neuer. He didnt even get a shot off because his touch was shit. Not because of anything the German CB's did.

Vela ********ed up 3 numbers up counter attacks.

Hazard was milk carton status after the first ten minutes and this Belgium formation is so weird. Mertens bailed Belgium out wow

Of course they were wasteful but my point is Germany’s tactics were suicide. Asking any CB pairing you could think of to consistently stop advantage counters 8-10 times against pacy attackers in a half with a ridiculously high line and lazy unstructured pressing ahead of them is a recipe for disaster. I’ll repeat; the CBs weren’t why we lost.

I dont think its the reason why Germany lost.

I only came to poke fun because you compared the German duo's athleticism to another pair, favorably.

Chucky is one of the fastest men in football.. I would have loved to see Pepe and Fonte try n keep up with that pace. Boateng n Hummels did quite well for being put on islands.

Lost some money on Peru , gaining with Senegal. Very happy I was able to lay off Colombia today.

Vintage Poland btw. I don't see the complaints about the second goal either. Just Poland being Poland. Senegal had better tactics as well even tho niang on the same side as mane limited mane a lot.

What I feared about Egypt. They weren't test in the WCQ and barely got by. Salah isn't 100% and Russia is running them ragged. Salah being 100% probably doesn't make a difference in them getting out of this group.

Mario Fernandes looking better than Danilo. Tite might as well play Fagner on Friday. I'd also like to see Douglas Costa over Willian, but I doubt Tite will do that.

And I'd love to see costa over willain. I try to Admit my bias against him and give him the benefit of the doubt but damn. It no longer makes sense putting him on the right without Alves

And just a side bet , I want Danilo to be bad enough where I actually see mengao call for fagner. I think deep down tite wants to start him.

Honestly, I'm basically at that point already. I think it was at some point at the 20 minute mark, the Swiss were attacking his flank and Zuber made a simple cut back on Danilo and Danilo's hips were completely turned. It was embarrassing marking. In the second half, he made his only cross of the game and it was pathetic. Douglas Costa and Fagner probably wouldn't work together unfortunately, so the first change I'd make is with our weakest link -- Danilo.

I'm sure people would name a list of them better than him, but he's probably one of the most balanced right backs out there.

We are kind of forced to. He is a brazilian that was bought by Russia which used to happen all the time, so unfortunately I'm guilty of following shiit lgs like russia and ukraine. mengao used to have some funny battles with a ukrainian fan on here. Spent many of my days in the past watching soccer when I should have been focusing on other things lol.

No but I do plan on watching tonight. I'm not surprised that Senegal had a good showing. They have some really nice pieces and if it came together in a satisfying way they're dangerous. Manè, Koulibaly, Sarr, and they can bring someone like Keita Baldè off the bench.

Morocco was one of my dark horses, but they couldn't manage to get out of their own way. They missed a boatload of chances vs Portugal and deserve to go home.
