Chattanooga FC week in review: I had held off posting Wednesday's and Saturday's results in hopes of getting an attendance update from CFC's Twitter account, but... it looks like that's not going to happen. On Wednesday, a 10 man CFC (goalkeeper Nick Croucher received a red card just before halftime) drew Asheville City SC 1-1 in the home leg of the Blue Ridge Derby. It was a school night, I wasn't there, so I can't even speculate about crowd size. I was told it was "respectable for mid-week". Last night, NOLA Jesters scored an absolute heart breaker in extra time to even things up at 2, despite CFC absolutely dominating the entire match. Very large crowd, definitely comparable to last weekend's home opener. Two games, two points. Chattanooga FC sitting exactly mid-table, albeit with 2 games in hand on half of the conference. Definitely a missed opportunity last night. CFC now begin a 3 week road trip. Next home game is June 20th (another Wednesday night game).
CFC kicked the living crap out of Emerald Force Wednesday night in Knoxville with a 5-1 pantsing, moving them to 3rd on the table and within a point of Asheville City, who they visit on Saturday, with a game in hand.
Chattanooga FC beat Asheville City SC 2-1 in the away leg of the Blue Ridge Derby last night, pushing them to the top of the table. They now have 11 points, one more than second place NOLA Jesters, with a game in hand. Next Saturday, they travel to Greenville FC.
Another stoppage time goal allowed Greenville FC to tie CFC 1-1. While still unbeaten, Chattanooga now sits second on the table, one point behind New Orleans. They travel to Inter Nashville on Wednesday.
If I was to guess, I would lean towards that they are having a hard time getting accurate counts at the gates (plural). It doesn't look like an overly sophisticated process from my perspective. The crowds certainly haven't diminished.
I was able to find the numbers I was missing from a very helpful person on Twitter, so we're good. If I could find more NPSL numbers, I could publish an update.
Aha! Thanks, obviously that's who I need to start following. Also really impressed with that 2500+ turnout for Asheville, on a Wednesday, before the school year ended.
Chattanooga FC is back on the top of the table with a 2-0 win over 10 man Inter Nashville on the road last night. They head to New Orleans on Saturday for a 6 pointer to close out their 3 week road trip.
Chattanooga FC fell to the NOLA Jesters 3-2 last night with 10 men in New Orleans. They swap places at the top of the table. After 3 weeks on the road, they return home on Wednesday.
