Congratulations to Tolima, they did a wonderful job in Medellin but if we will be honest, it was Nacional who basically did everything they can in the last 10 minutes NOT to win the title. If it was Zuñiga's red, the counter attack we didn't finish and of course the sloppy header that Monetti didn't take. We were a minute away from a title and it's not fair to put it all on Almiron. I do agree that most of this team need to leave because they are not in the required level to play for Nacional, but not Almiron. I think he is a good coach despite the fact that we didn't play attractive futbol, however we did achieve results.

I have no doubt that with the a better squad he will achieve more. Also Monetti. In general, he had a good tournament. Yes he made several mistakes, yes he had horrible one in the last minute. But if you remember how Armani started, you know that we don't crucify a player after 6 months. Castellani was good in most part of the season, while Braghieri wasn't so consistant as well as Delgado. But not just them. It wasn't the same Mac, same Henriquez. Nacional needs to replace several players of the veterans.

I think that if Almiron would stay, Zuñiga can find a different team. For me, he is the most responsible for what happened today. And yes, Almiron lost two finals but he still gain experience and I actually like his approach. He is not responsible for players who miss clear chances. This loss is hurts only because it was in our hands but again, Tolima always believed in itself and made a huge comeback. Well-deserved champion.

Colombian Juventus can’t win them all.

For guys calling for this dudes head. What coach to replace him?

Also this team just got super super old

They need a huge roster refresh sadly don’t really have anyone to sell this time around to finance it

NONE. This what makes Nacional different from the rest. We need to continue this process with Almiron. He is a good coach. Yes we need to refresh the squad and try new guys. But the last thing that we need to do is to go in panic now and fire everyone.

So is Nacional just going to buy all of Huila and Tolima?

Waiting to hear half of each team gets signed :)

I don't think we should fire Almirón, But criticism is well deserved. We need to have a younger core, we are too old now.

Agree. Everyone deserve a criticism for what we saw yesterday but I would put more on the players than on Almiron. Zuñiga, Aldo, Henriquez, Monetti, all had bigger part than Almiron regarding yesterday's horror.

I could not agree more with you pepino...

I am pretty sure de won't last long in Libertadores either. Specially if we hace yo rely on Dayro every single ********ing game because no one else can score with a free hooker ...

well surely you'll be able to get past Tucuman. However there are some real tough teams so not sure how far.

are colombian teams able to make signings now or is it only for the europeans?

Don't be so sure, Tucuman did a hell of a trouble to their rivals in the group stage. Anyway, I believe that we will get some decent reinforcements for the second tournament.

nothing is for certain but Atl Nacional should have the pedigree of winning when it matters...(although they just choked vs Tolima).

Without a doubt. Tolima did a wonderful job and Gamero is an excellent coach, I always liked him since his Chico's days. Glad he has his recognition. All the terms were suppose to be in our favor (didn't lost at home in 35 matches, didn't receive a single goal at Atanasio this semester) and we blew it.

Our president talked yesterday and we have several news already:

    • * Renteria will return to Mexico
    • * We terminate the contract of Roderick Miller and close to terminate Cristian Bonilla's contract as well.
    • * Diego Arias & Edwin Velasco close to sign with Caldas on loan
    • * Ronaldo Lucena was loaned to Tachira.
    • * There was a rumor regarding us trying to bring back Copete (I don't understand why) but he is too expensive.
    • * Macnelly most probably won't continue.

Actually I agree with you. Yeah it sucks to lose this way but we deserve his comment. I less care about Zuñiga or Monetti but Almiron had to talk. Kinda disappointing.
