Honestly the score line was much worse than the game play against HOU. Even with that first goal, we were playing very well. The goal right before HT deflated us ... but there were PLENTY of signs in that match.
I hate that we lost, but I think if they can get on a nice winning streak, beating Switchbacks FC was huge, if they can get the W vs OC.. then they have Tulsa on the road, but if they can get max points we get back in the race. With the following three against OKC, WhiteCaps 2, and Los Dos all at home will be tough.. That's why I think Thursday is a must win again..
what a great match on Thursday. OC played good, and I think we can finally say the goal drought is OVER!! However have to be cautious with Tulsa. should get the W that game, but cannot look ahead to the next big three
Great comeback ... very fun. Yeah we need to curb stomp Tulsa again and keep the momentum rolling into this stretch.
And TULSA GOES DOWN AGAIN !!!!!!! 2-1 but a very complete victory that was better than the scoreline. That through ball by Alvarez for Tank's goal was phenomenal ... great show!!!!
Disappointing way to open the three game home stand. We just have a problem beating our rivals this year RGV and OKC both losing records. The Red to Ford we will be lucky if it is just 1 game. Was not able to go to the game, family commitments but in looking at it online, attendance seems to be slowly dropping?
meh, two tough losses in a row ... Was all right with the LA2 loss as we played well against a damn good side and just came up short. This one against Swope was all sorts of UGH ... I honestly don't feel they're better than we are and the shift in formation due to the injuries was not good for us. However, CARDONE !!!!!!!!!
With Reed out that killed us. I think if he stayed in we come away witht he 3 points. But without Ford, Rafa and Reed to much leadership out for that game. But Ford back this week hopefully Rafa and Reed are back as well. as Sactown is the team I wanted to see in San Antonio
soft is an understatement. Not sure why it always seems like SAFC ends up on the short end of these game changing calls. Last two games (the slap that should of been a red in KC, and then this soft penalty in Sac) could really hurt SAFC when it comes to the playoff race.
3 huge points after a crappy road trip. Need to get the W vs S2 to get back in race. But McCarthy getting hurt and I guess Ford also picked up a injury in warm up.. those are not good if serious injuries. Cardone filled in nice.. FEAR the Beard!
Cardone is a starting GK .... period. That means we've got two of 'em. McCarthy being out for more than a match will hurt us badly ... ... but we looked MUCH MUCH MUCH better with the Tank starting up top. The whole attitude of the team seemed to follow and it was very obvious.
I suspect McCarthy might be gone for at least a few weeks - if not the rest of the season. It looked like a broken arm to me.
Another big week ahead of SAFC with this road trip. St Louis and Swope Park. Need to get at least 4 points IMO to hold on to the 8th spot.
Worst case scenario is 3pts and we're still good. Anything less and it's going to be really, really hard. I WANT 4, would LOVE 6, but HAVE to have 3 here.
To me this is a very important week for SAFC. On a great roll, but if we can get the W in KC and then follow it up with 3 vs Arizona.. However as a SAFC fan, I would love to face RGVFC in the playoffs, Even on the road, would be cool to take a couple of buses down. Outside of that I don't think we would get to travel. Assuming that RGV gets their stadium opened.
Well what a crappy way to end the season. The injuries just took to much out of this teams depth. While it was a great run, there are a lot of questions that need to be address in the offseason.
