Ok sure how about we go back to the last official match we played to discuss.

It was the... 3-2 in San Pedro Sula vs Honduras. Well, that was also awful.

    It was awful

But also it was because of that awful result that the Nads didn’t qualify to the WC :ROFLMAO:

Glad Guardado mentioned in his post game interview “no hay que jugar al balonazo”... except, realizing that a few years ago probably would’ve been nicer.. and he also did mention that there were German scouts watching the game and that Mexico wasn’t showing full force..

A ver que pedo compas.. regardless of everything and all the BS we go through being Mexico fans, we always end up turning everything into a joke.. last WC’s joke was “no fue penal”. I wasn’t even pissed that Mexico had lost anymore due to the memes. I’m hoping it’s an exciting world cup, regardless of if we do shitty or not.

The only glaring difference would be that Diego actually earned his ticket to Russia.

    Its this isn't it.

4 years ago we lost against Portugal before the Cup. But that was the game that showed us that the team was ready

8 years ago they lost against England at Wembley, but anyone who watched the game left impressed with how the team was playing.

12 years ago, they lost to France at St. Denis, but they played straight up with France and never looked out of place. 7

The midfield is the only thing keeping this team from falling apart. Herrera and Guardado are the most important players on this team, if they are on, they have a shot to do what they always do in the world cup: get to the 2nd round. They have to defend with the ball and need as much ball possession as possible, because the back 4 are the weakest link, every time a team attacks they look susceptible.

I have always thought that Mexico over the past 25 years could beat anyone on any given day, and lose to anyone on any given day. This team in particular though, reflects this saying more than any other Mexico World Cup team I can remember.

I don't know, I think those are bad examples. Mexico looked good against Portugal but that Portugal team was shit and showed it in the cup. And it was mostly the team that played the WC because CR7 wasn't there. I thought the Bosnia game was awful and Mexico were a lot better in the WC. I went to both sendaways in Azteca (Israel and Scotland) and while people criticized the team now and some people brought up that game and the score when I think they played better in the game against Scotland and when we played Israel everybody criticized the team and how Cuauhtemoc Blanco was the best player in the time he played. The difference was that the Israeli keeper gifted them them 2 goals as he was AWFUL.

Mexico played great against England and even better against Italy in 2010. But I think that was to the detriment of the team as the Italy game was the peak of that team. They did alright with France but overall it wasn't a great WC and they never played as good as against Italy. Peaked too early. Same with 2006 except that they did their best against Argentina in the World Cup but got to that game because they were flat out bad in the easiest World Cup group we've had outside of Mexico.

As for today's game, Mexico was alright until halftime when we went down a man by subbing in Marquez. It's going to be terrible when the media and fans blame the party for the loss when the guy who had to leave to ask forgiveness and supposedly is piss was the best or near the best player today (Herrera) and the guy who according to John "Jenn Selter" Sutcliffe (after he went on and on about the sponsors and the children) said that he got mad and scolded all the players about their image etc, was the WORST guy of them all.

We can't get much of these friendlies. The US crushed Bolivia 3-0 and today Serbia crushed them 5-1. In between those games, they tied 0-0 with South Korea. I think that teams in the group they have played like 21 friendly games and only won 6.

You really don’t know with friendlies.

The reactions have a wide range.

If we look bad either the sky is falling or people scramble to reference 1998 as an example of the meaninglessness of it all.

The most important examples you want to take down are previous games under a current manager to references from other times or completely different groups of players. It doesn’t appear to bode well for us in Russia.

As far as friendlies go, I think of the Chile friendly before the copa. The result was a positive one but the overall play was worrying. The same goes for the group stage games. You weren’t a Debbie downer or whatever if you pointed out those issues. There were legitimate concerns and that obviously mattered later on.

When looking at the total picture, I’m worried honestly.

I only watched the first half but in the first 20-25 minutes mexico was bleh. They picked it up and put a lot of pressure in the last 20 minutes which is good since they were missing the best attackers except for Corona.

Gio and Peralta are past it so I'm assuming Chucky, along with Cheech or Jimenez will starting.

    Moreno was super rusty.

Sweden is defensively very strong but have not managed a single win in an official NT match in 2018 ... they beat an unofficial Danish League NT by a goal in 3 minutes injury-time but only 1 player (reserve GK Frederik Rønnow) from that game is going to the WC..:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweden_national_football_team#2018

Denmark on the other hand now have a unbeaten streak of 15 games in a row (since November 2016) .
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denmark_national_football_team#Recent_results_and_forthcoming_fixtures

So you should not worry all too much about this specific loss in a friendly to Denmark ... I would be more worried if I was Swedish, considering how toothless they look in attack at the moment ....

I just rewatched the game. A couple of notes.

Gallardo is just not good enough mentally or technically.
Layun should not be playing in the midfield he get lost and makes silly mistakes. I don’t understand why he can’t play where Gallardo is fvcking up.
Rafa is too far gone and his production of good passes to giveaways is almost negative.
Moreno looked rough, but how do you bring him back into game speed??
Machin looks to be our most solid defender at the moment.
    Ochoa is in good form.
Tecatito is gonna peak at the right time.
Jona HH and Guardis make for a good midfield they just need to play in a triangle rather than as flat as they did.
I think once a striker puts the ball in the net people will relax a litttle. Everyone looks too tense.
Not sure how well Jhonfai connected with everyone. He may be better as an extremo and let Vela or even HH play the enganche.

I hope to la virgen Osorio is playing 4D chess.

True but let's not bs...if he's not ready he shouldn't go. I hope it isn't that and jco simply does not have confidence in the alternatives, so he's holding out.
