They aren't the first Taiwanese team to play. A Taiwanese team played last year in the preliminary qualifying round, but then withdrew.
Benfica Macau was only able to travel from Macau to North Korea via Beijing yesterday. They have to play today at 2:30pm. They have 18 players available but are missing striker Niki Torrao (shoulder injury) and Chan Man. It will be a very tough game for them.
http://www.the-afc.com/competitions...hday-two-group-i-hwaepul-sc-2-3-benfica-macau Hwaepul SC 2:3 Benfica Macau This is probably the greatest win in Macau football history.
4.25 Sports Club vs Benfica Macau today. Benfica Macau only have 15 players available because they are amateurs and some players have to go to work... Naturalized strikers Gois Fernandes and Nikki Torrao are available as well as the three foreigners, but there is no way 4.25 is not going to win this...
They should make this cup more similar to the Europa League. These 'developing nations' aren't going to improve if they just compete among themselves in this cup every year. They should be playing teams from the ACL countries as well allowing them to improve. That would also allow us to bring back the Asian Super Cup.
I think it was like this in the past. Saudi and Uzbek teams were participating in the AFC Cup. Much better for the developing nations in the long run
ASEAN Zonals Semifinals First Leg Ceres Negros FC(Philippines) 4-2 Yangon United FC(Myanmar) Home United FC(Singapore) 3-2 Persija Jakarta (Indonesia)
Semifinal, first legs Al-Jazeera - Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya 0-1 April 25 - Altyn Asyr 2-2 Thank God that West Asia hosts the final, otherwise it would be interesting to see what would have happened with April 25 hosting it. No news on the games there until few hours after the game, crazy. And it happens in the semifinal too. Imagine having your team in the final not knowing the result all the way until the match ends.
Anyone know the deal with Nejmeh no showing for their match today? This is what I could find from the AFC Site: http://www.the-afc.com/competitions/afc-cup/latest/news/afc-statement-on-hilal-alquds-v-nejmeh
And year later 4.25 qualifies to final and will host it. I am really curious about this one. Will there be cameras present?
