Ok they mean nothing but Germany is now on a negative run with beeing winless since three games and having lost already twice this year. These are not stats of a team that is going to win the World Cup.

I hope the within-team fight didn't have anything to do with this loss...

Not to mention, Germany looked terrible in most friendlies prior to Euro 2016, but switched back on once the tournament started.

Honestly, I'm not too worried. Before the 2014 WC, they tied in both their friendlies against Poland (0-0) and Cameroon (2-2) and then beat the breaks off Armenia (6-1). Germany usually don't do well in friendlies, last time they played Argentina in a friendly they lost 4-2. And they lost to the US (2-1). They're a tournament team. They'll be just fine.

They also lost 3-1 to Slovakia prior to Euro 2016. But they played Slovakia for real in Round of 16 and won 3-0.

Exactly. How many times have they played Argentina in friendlies and lost. But when it came to the real tournament they've beat them the past 2 WC's.

Mexico couldn't put away what was at best a Scottish B team. I'm starting to think Sweden is going to finish 2nd in this group and qualify for the next round, which frankly makes me nauseous.

Picking Germany to finish last :p.

Germany and México to progress the knockout stages are not the Same without the Mexicans, nothing against Sweden or SK, I was a big fan of Brolin when he played for Parma and Sweden.

Beuna suerte mis amigos, véalo en el último 16

Germany is actually winless since 5 games, not only 3:

Not to mention they were actually extremely lucky to score the equalizer against France at the very last minute of extra-time.

I guess you then can sleep easy again, Germany won't have a chance to go deep. xD

As already pointed by Mean Machine, Germany has a habit to perform poorly during preparation games (even drawing against Cameroon and Poland just before becoming world champion in 2014).

But for the sake of accuracy, we can mention nevertheless that Germany hasn't won a single friendly since the end of the world cup qualifiers. Even if that has only a trivia value and of course tells nothing about what will happen when Germany will be put in real action.

You know Mexico is struggling when they rely on MLS players for victories against Scotland. :p

Just a friendly though so they are still okay. Once the lights go on for the real tournament they will be ready.

They can of course go still deep but it would be really surprising if they repeat.
If everything goes well they can reach the final but then they would surely lose.

But it's on the big tournaments where they've been most badly exposed lately.

    True.
I am not expecting them to get anything against Germany. But if they keep it close and then beat Korea things could look good.

The way they've been p,saying for the last year, I expect them to be run over the park by the Germans, defeating SO and at most tying Sweden and hoping that Germany beats those two by very ridiculous amounts of goals.

    Could happen.
I just rarely see Mexico without that fighting spirit and pride in a World Cup.
We shall see if this is the year they just don't have it. (Or if it won't be enough.)

If they play like this did against Portugal and Russia in the Confederations I think they have a chance to advance.

But if they play like they did against Germany, they're majority screwed (and right now that seems more likely).
