It looks like Yuen Long FC maybe saved from the drop. Their president Wilson Wong is meeting with HKFA today and he said he has good news.

Confirmed: Yuen Long are staying up.

    - Rangers go down, Hoi King are coming up
    - Their budget next year will be $7 million
    - Team was saved thanks to Biu Chun owner Peter Mok, as well as district council and local businesses
    - Squad next year will consist of mostly U-20 players plus foreign aid
    _____________
They'll likely be in a relegation fight next year once again but at least they're staying up.

Hopefully Fabio will not hang up his boots yet and help out Yuen Long. Maybe Ip Chung-Long can stay for another season? Chiu Chun-Kit is also looking for a club.

    HKFA FA Cup

    Kitchee 2:1 Wofoo Tai Po

Kitchee completes its hat-trick of trophies. League, Sapling Cup and FA Cup.

Alex Akande announced he will leave and join a club in Chinese Jia League. Lo Kwan-Yee and Lam Kar-Wai are also leaving Kitchee. There are quite a number of Kitchee players likely to leave the club as well.

Kriztian Vadocz will play for the Hungarian national team next week then he will decide his future.

In addition, Sandro and Paulinho will be leaving and there's a good chance that Andreas Lam will likely be gone too, and all of a sudden, things are not so rosy at Kitchee.

Where is everyone going? Why not stay at a team that has won back-to-back trebles?

Especially Lam Zhi Gin - what's the story wtih him?

Paulinho, Lo Kwan Yee and Lam Ka Wai were players who were subs this year and are old. They're likely leaving to get first team minutes.

Alex and Sandro are leaving for leagues where they can get paid more. They both have Hong Kong passports so it's easier for them to get contracts elsewhere in the AFC.

Vadocz and Lam are likely considering offers where they can get paid more. They both have EU passports so it's easier for them to get contracts in Europe should they choose to return.

Money is the key factor. Just look at Tai Po. They would benefit from all of Kitchee's departures but Tan Chun Lok looks all but certain to be gone and Wong Wai could be following him.

A true pity Lam could not get a HKSAR passport and represent the national team. His presence and skillset will be sorely missed, though he does have injury concerns. We really need to fix this citizenship issue out FAST.

Tan Chun Lok has received interest from Guanzhou R&F and multiple other clubs from outside HK, he will take his time before making the correct decision.

The future looks bright. The youngsters are doing well. Wondering when they will announce more HK friendlies? Looks like we will miss out on this June window again.

No need to rush. Let's hire a manager first and then play.

Kitchee boss Ken Ng said he will file a complaint against R&F Guangzhou for approaching Dani Cancela illegally. As according to FIFA regulations, clubs are not permitted to approach players under contract for more than 6 months with another club. R&F told Dani they will offer HK$1.5m transfer fee and asked him to get himself out of his contract with Kitchee.

Oh the irony of Kitchee complaining when a fellow club wants to poach one of their naturalized players and pay them more money. It's not like they've ever done anything similar before.

R&F are reported interested in Lo Kwan Yee, Paulinho and Vadocz in addition to Dani. Sounds like they're trying the strategy of "if you can't beat them, sign them."

TKO Football Training Centre will open for business on 16 July, after years of negotiation, funding issues and work.

But Eastern and Lee Man have already said the costs of using it are too high and they will not use it. Good riddance.

Kwok Ka-Lok will take up Yuen Long FC's head coach position after he leads the Hong Kong U23 through the Asian Games in August. Yuen Long FC convener Wilson Wong said HKFA also agreed to allow Kwok to help out whenever his U23 commitments permits. Fabio will also return to the club as assistant coach + player.

Brilliant news for Yuen Long. They will need a leader at the back to guide all of the young players at the club.

The HKFA announced a 40 member squad for the Asian Games. I am not going to list them here, just the 3 over-aged players: Recio, Lam Kar-Wai and Jordi (All Kitchee).

I am not certain Lam Kar-Wai will be on most people's list for an over-age player. I personally would not have picked him.

Its been a while, just came back from my holiday. Anyways:

I have indeed. I usually follow Offside.hk to get the latest news as well as their podcast to get their insights of Hong Kong football.

I'll list each of the players who were named for those who do not know:

    Goalkeepers:
CHAN Ka-Ho, LI Yat Chun, YUEN Ho-Chun, TSE Ka-Wing, WONG Tsz-Chung.

    Defenders:
    CHAN Kong-Pan, LAW Chun-Ting, LAW Tsz-Chun, Vas NUNEZ, Marco WEGENER, LAU Hok-Ming, TSE Long-Hin, TSUI Wang-Kit, YIU Ho-Ming, YU Ho-Pong, YU Wai-Lim.

    Midfielders:
    CHAN Pak-Hei, CHENG Chun-Yin, LAI Hau-Hei, LAM Hin-Ting, LAW Hiu-Chung, NGAN Cheuk-Pan, Oliver GERBIG, Remi DUJARDIN, SIU Chun-Ming, TAN Chun-Lok, WONG Chun-Hin, WU Chun-Ming, YUE Tsz-Nam.

    Forwards:
CHENG Siu-Kwan, CHENG Chin-Lung, CHIU Siu-Wai, CHUNG Wai-Keung, Harima HIROKANE, LAI Lok-Yin, Jordan LAM Lok-Kan, Matthew Elliot ORR Wing-Kai

    Source: https://www.hkfa.com/news_details2/15992

Looking at the preliminary squad, it seems some of these players had took part during the 2018 U-23 AFC Championship qualification stage. I do highly expect the likes of TAN Chun-Lok, CHENG Chin-Lung and TSUI Wang-Kit to make it into the final 23-man squad.

On the bolded - I was actually surprised that LAM Ka-Wai was chosen as one of the three over-aged players as he wasn't really who I had in mind.

It's actually going to be an away-and-home series on Oct 11 and Oct 16.

While I'm glad we secured some friendlies, it's a lot of time off for our senior players...

During the 2026 World Cup vote today, Hong Kong voted for the United bid while Macau, Taiwan and China all voted for Morocco.

Tan Chun-Lok (arrow) is training with Guangzhou R&F (CSL club) in Los Angeles. He is said to have a pretty good chance of actually joining the CSL club. Even if he does not, he may still join sister club R&F FC and play in HKPL.
