Four matches today in the Caribbean! Cuba can qualify for the second round with a win over Puerto Rico.

I have nothing against Cuba but will keep fingers crossed for Puerto Rico. My countryman Shek Borkowski is Puerto Rico coach. He did wonders for Haiti WoSo past years and if memory serves he was also at time a well known coach in USA WoSo scene.

I have to correct myself - Cuba will only qualify with a win assuming that Anguilla-Aruba ends in a draw. But that's for mathematical certainty - a win over PR would effectively be enough, as watching either of the A's win their following two matches as well is massively unlikely.

He's certainly well-known... I'm not sure how well-respected. He's been very wishy-washy in terms of what league(s) he had FC Indiana playing in, and that team seem to have disbanded this year entirely. He's also had 13yo's playing in WPSL, which is not helpful to anyone... With FCI gone and Haiti abandoned in favor of PR all in the same offseason, I'm not gonna be cheering for him soon. He didn't even really do wonders for Haiti either... Haiti has nearly always been hovering at 55th-60th in the world rankings, and he didn't change that. Heck, Haiti slipped below 60th in his later years at the helm.

That said, considering all that the island of PR has gone through in the past year, that would certainly be worth cheering for them... But considering that Cuba has less of a history in C'CAF women's competitions than PR does, I'm kinda leaning toward them anyway.

...and since I made that post it seems like PR went from 0-0 to up 2-0 over Cuba, with several minutes still to play in the first half. X-D

    =EDIT=
And just to mention, Anguilla 1-2 Aruba earlier
Jamaica-Guadaloupe should be at halftime or maybe even in the second half by now but I can't find a score update

Four more games today! Cuba is the team on bye in Group A, but they can still qualify if PR and Aruba draw each other, as those are the only two teams that an still pass Cuba. It's mostly a wash today in Group B - short of an upset, we knew this group was going to come down to who wins the Jamaica-Haiti match on Sunday; the only thing to really play for today is GD.

Caribbean qualifying gets busy today with six matches, and six more matches on Friday and Sunday to finish out the first round. Gonna be a rush through to end out the weekend! Will be very interesting to see who actually advances out of groups D and E... No really strong teams in either pool.

    Holy Batman SKN is up!

    =edit=
Just to note, if this game doesn't end in a draw, the winner wins the group.

Would be a huge upset for St. Kitts if they pull off this win. Haftime: St. Kitts & Nevis 1 - Trinidad & Tobago 0

Halftime. Game has been entirely in SKN's half, but T&T hasn't yet found the equalizer.

Match ended as a draw, so group C winner will be determined tomorrow, likely on goal differential.

Only other FT score I can find right now is Bermuda 3-2 Barbados, which sets up a very interesting finish for group E.

Suriname currently leading Guyana 2-1, adding to the group E intrigue.

Trinidad & Tobago needs to beat Grenada by at least 6 goals to win their group.

    HALFTIME: Trinidad & Tobago 6 - Grenada 0

Unless Grenada can manage a goal or two, Trinidad & Tobago will advance to the CFU Final.
