Watching the CL Final and seeing a bolu like Ramos take out Salah and seeing Carvajal pull his hamstring, this is the reason I wanted all our players out of the CL early.

Argentine players need to stop going to a third-rate league like Portugal’s.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if he leaves Boca, regardless of where he goes :D

But jokes aside, I can actually see him playing for Benfica. He is a good player, but it is hard to imagine him moving to a big European side, at least immediately. He was linked to Arsenal in the past, but I think that was mostly tabloid talk.

Then you have plenty of second-rank European teams, but none of them are going to be willing to pay the $35,000,000 Angelici wants for him.

So in the end I don't think Benfica is a bad option, especially if they center the team around him as they probably would. If he does well it would serve as a stepping stone for a team like Atletico Madrid or Juve to later snap him up (that's a big if)

We'll see what happens within the next months as the world observes him.. The WC changed James Rodriguez's career, for instance, so if Pavon puts on a show he'll definitely begin attracting bigger teams.

Indeed but the one thing they have better is their keeper development. Even if Neuer is missing they can rely on ter Stegen and Trapp and Henrichs in the future. Our young keepers seem to go missing in action and never develop properly.

Axel Werner seems quite content to wait his turn at Atletico for instance and Damian Martinez has frittered his career away.

The one thing that is irksome is the money these secondary clubs then make when a player signed relatively cheaply is sold to one of the bigger fish in Europe. Take di Maria for instance. But all our kids should take heed when moving to Europe. Move to a club with a sympathetic manager and a club where you will play plenty of football. There is no substitute for actual play versus training. And that will come at the so called second of third tier teams not clubs of the first tier where you will rot away on the bench or be constantly loaned here there and everywhere.

I was horrified by Lo Celso's move to PSG and worried by Asascibar going to Stuttgart. The former because PSG is a circus and the latter because he would have to remove the captain Gentner. An injury to him was fortunate and to Motta as well for Lo Celso. But it is not ideal. Foyth should Pochettino bring in someone to replace Aldeirweld should ask for a move away.

Personally Pavon should have no problems in showing what he is capable of and a good World Cup might get him a better move so to speak but he needs to do it for the right footballing reasons and not just money alone.

I still don't think Argentine players should go to Portugal, a few months ago you should read what a couple of the Portuguese posters wrote in the WC Group B thread. Something ridiculous along the likes that Argentine players would not be successful in Europe without the Portuguese stint, apparently these shitheads have never heard of DiStefano, Sivori, Kempes, Ardiles, Bertoni, Maradona, all the way to Batistuta, Crespo, Riquelme, Tevez, Mascherano, and of course Messi, Aguero, Higuain, Banega and recently Dybala, Icardi and Lanzini. None of whom ever need to play in such a mediocre league to establish themselves overseas.

I let them know they should be thankful they got to learn how to play better technical football with the Argentine influx. But I think the masterclass should be finished, let's not send Argentine players over there anymore.

    1) It's an immediate move to a Champions League club. Even if the Portuguese League isn't great, everyone watches the Champions League and he'll be able to immediately improve against the best and show what he can do to clubs in Spain, Italy, Germany, & England.

    2) Maybe he just wants the opportunity to play with Keaton Parks.

You shouldn't let a handful of trolls get to you. Only a few Argentino's are in Portugal as we speak. The likes of Salvio,Acuña, Battaglia and Cervi are the ones I can think of right now. I mean honestly, which Argentinos began their European careers with a Portuguese side before going elsewhere? ADM, Licha López, the other Lisandro López, Lucho, Otamendi and Nico Gaitán? I am probably forgetting some names but nothing is coming up.

But I do agree, I personally do not want our players to go to Portugal for the sole reason of them taking advantage of financial needs by some of our clubs. Their "top clubs" receive Champions League money and they buy our players for pennies on the dollar and they flip them a couple years down the road for a hefty profit.

    :ROFLMAO:

Lucho Gonzalez was the catalyst, he changed the way the top Portuguese teams operate. Unfortunately they have seen it as a quick way to make money with little benefit to our players, other than some CL exposure. I think they are no longer recruiting from Argentina as actively as before, and not surprisingly, their clubs have fared worse in Europe lately.

There are rumors circulating that Juventus could go after Icardi. Juve will throw in cash and Fatso. This could merely be a rumor because Icardi is up for a renewal.

Wont be a good move at all since they're still manage by Allegri. Dybala should have move next season or he'd never really rise to another level which he's capable of.

I don't know if I would rather see Dybala & Icardi build a strong rapport or Martinez & Icardi... but for now, I'm excited for the Martinez+Icardi pairing.

It would be disappointing seeing Icardi who is the captain of Inter go to a rival. If he does, as mentioned above, Allegri plays a from stagnated style of football. Douglas Costa could be a similar to Perisic who will help Icardi find more goals but Juve have zero creativity coming from the midfield.

I’m not sure if Icardi and Dybala will fit either but it will be interesting to say the least. Icardi does play for the team, I’ve seen him pressure defenders and fight for his side. I am a big fan of his game. Plays with zero fear, which is something many of our current players lack.

I’m not sure if Dybala will be there though, I just don’t see him getting along with Allegri, he clearly does not like his pussyfoot tactics . City can come calling or maybe one of the Spanish giants. If Dybala and Messi buddy up in this month or so then Messi can have Barca go after him instead of Grizemann. We will have to wait and see.

But regardless, I hope MI9 stays at Inter and I want to see his growth alongside Lautaro’s.

Icardi should just stay at Inter since he managed to pulled them to CL spot. I favor him to move at first but with CL place secured and Martinez coming in, he should & better stay.

Icardi play like a real man, he has zero fear & clearly fight for his team. When they lost to Juve, you could see it in his face , but he didnt give up there , instead he scored more goals and achieved both CL spot & another golden boots.

    http://mundoalbiceleste.com/2018/05...r-argentina-at-a-world-cup-a-dream-come-true/

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Paulo DYBALA has stated that it’s all a dream come true and he would like to help Lionel MESSI and Argentina in winning the FIFA World Cup.

Speaking in an interview with Cadena 3, the Juventus star stated his desire in wanting to win the FIFA World Cup.

“THE DESIRE TO HELP HIM (MESSI) ACHIEVE SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE GREAT FOR EVERYONE IS VERY BIG. WE TRY TO HELP HIM FROM WHEREVER WE ARE. WE HAVE THE BEST PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL ON OUR SIDE AND THE DREAM IS VERY BIG. IT’S EVERYONE’S DREAM TO BE WORLD CHAMPION.

“TO TRAIN AND TO HAVE THE POSSIBILITY OF SEEING MESSI EVERY DAY IS SOMETHING INCREDIBLE, BECAUSE YOU LEARN A LOT FROM HIS QUALITY. BEING WORLD CHAMPION IS EVERYONE’S DREAM. IT WON’T BE EASY BUT WE HAVE THE BEST PLAYER IN HISTORY AND WE WILL DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO GET THAT DONE.”

DYBALA also made it clear that he has no problems playing anywhere up front as he has played in all the attacking positions.

“I HAVE PLAYED EVERY WHERE UP FRONT, BE IT AT INSTITUTO, PALERMO OR JUVE. I DON’T FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE PLAYING AS A PLAYMAKER UP FRONT.”
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I still have not lost hope that maybe Sampaoli tries Messi and Dybala together in a game.

That kind of talk where everyone is in awe of Messi is a bit worrisome. Everyone should want to be THE guy on this team, within reason of course. They are all talented and capable and should play like they can be difference makers, not just leave it to Messi.

I agree, but hopefully he is just saying it to show admiration and nothing else.

Everyone at Barcelona has been in awe as well, especially in training— from Ronaldinho, Xavi, Zlatan, Eto, Henry, Rakitic, Neymar, Luis Suarez, etc.

Dybala doesn’t come across the type that doesn’t want to be a difference maker. In fact, I think he sometimes tries too hard.

Higuain who scored only 1 goal in 7 qualifier games, hasnt score for NT since 2016 against Peru. What a hot streak.

Icardi to Chelsea is the new hot rumor of the day. There were talks that Chelsea were going to go after Fatso since Juve want to cut their losses but a Chelsea director nixed a Fatso to Chelsea deal and that they should go after Icardi. They can easily pay his 110ME buy-out clause and teams can activate that clause for the first couple weeks of July(Don't quote me on the dates but I remember reading something in the lines of this) and only non-Italian teams can activate his clause.

I sometimes have to laugh at teams like Juventus who make idiotic purchases like 90ME for a bonafide choker. They could've got Icardi for cheaper and who is much younger.

Icardi is one of those guys that has cult followers . In his case, there's still River & Napoli fans who thinks he's undisputed 9, even after those 3 finals and scored a mere 1 goal for NT since Copa 2016.

How can you achieve such feat while playing as 9 and started most of the time?

I'd be very surprise to see any big team that has interest in him. If he's not a famous Argentine forward, he'd have been loaned to mid table team since few years ago.

I believe you mean Fatso? But I don’t think many if any Napoli supporters respect him. He does have apologists though, that’s for damn sure.
