That’s nice but that is 60% all star game where teams barely defend and will be high scoring

That plus Egypt is not enough

Both Pekerman is lazy when it comes to friendlies and our federation is borderline trash.

Agreed one friendly is not enough they have to try and play a team like Germany that is very stacked or Brasil.. Because even if those National Teams sit guys out they'll still field quality competition.. And i have a feeling this world cup will have a lot of direct and vertical fast football and those teams are the best at that.. Plus Colombia is in a group with opponents that play very vertical with a lot of high press and tactical awareness. On top of that the team they may face in the knock out rounds be it Belgium or England play a vertical fast pace style so it'll be good that they get used to it even if they lose the friendlies

I don't know how many friendlies Colombia will play, but how does it even cross your mind that Pekerman makes decisions out of lazyness? He is a very conscientious person and I'm sure he has planned everyhting very carefully.

Not calling a large squad to the NT then crying about players not being available or injured or someone not having enough time with the team or not understanding the strategy yet

Also not wanting friendlies the whole time he has been here

Lazy as he doesn’t seem to scout. He has his 25 guys since he started and it doesn’t change much (fking Camilo Vargas!!!!!!)

We are a little more than a month away from the World Cup. Think of it as the night before a big exam. At this point who or how many games we play before Russia don’t mean much. Nothing is going to change drastically with our formations and tactics from what we have seen over the past two years.

Our final friendly games really benefits players like Mojica and guys who have less than 5 caps.

Yes, we are playing with fire in the GK category but there apparently isn’t anyone at the domestic level who has shown they are ready for NT play. Please correct me if I am incorrect about our GK situation.

Remember last World Cup we played one March friendly and two June friendlies heading into Russia.

CrZd, no need to get all bent out of shape with regards to friendlies at this point. Take a look at other top NTs and see who they play in their friendlies.

Most teams would play between 1 and 3 friendlies, the last one usually against a punching bag. So what's your point?

For the last two friendlies he called 25 players and 5 reserves. There are 23 spots and unless we are struck by bad luck in the next month, most of those 30 guys should be available. If we learned something from Bolillo and Pinto is that consistency pays, hence a limited number of call-ups is usually a good thing; we went from calling close to 60 players during WCQ to around 35, which is OK in my book, And if you don't like Vargas, who do you think Pekerman should call? Come on, name it, who is that great Colombian keeper that will take over as soon as he's called to the NT?

I think they will do the farewell game in Bogota with the Euro players as a morale booster and to appease the fans.

Is not a big deal. At this point is all about avoiding injuries. Colombia has been playing great lately and raised my expectations. I really believe we can go further than last time around!

I would like to see Pekerman try to play a higher pressing approach and implement a 4-3-3 similar to Man City or Liverpool. Not sure it totally suits all of our pieces but with James playing more of a CM role recently and with so many good CM/destroyers I think it would be a good system for us to use, we seemed to be at our best in the recent friendlies when we were playing more of a pressing style.

    Muriel-Falcao-Cuadrado

    Uribe-Barrios-James

    Fabra-Mina-Sanchez-Arias

I think as we go forward as well this will be a good system for us, Muriel and Cuadrado fit this perfectly as they do a lot of good defensive work wide and Uribe/Lerma/Barrios/Sanchez are some of our best players and this allows us to get them on the field more. If Cardona/Quintero could up their defensive IQ and work ethic we could also play a double pivot with James against weaker opposition, but at this point not sure either of those guys is capable of that. Think Cucho would fit really well with a high pressing side as a false 9 as well to replace Falcao going forward.

Wife’s birthday and Around when we
    Only 2 Gks :)

I agree with the Fijos but that is exactly why I have been on the anti Abel campaign for so long

Him being on it can knock out a much better player like Izquerido or Lerma.

Off the bench I feel Abel offers us nothing. If you want him in the locker room bring him as a coaching assistant but as a Final 23 it’s him as a starter or watching it from Cali or Bogota
