The Netherlands' first kit colour was white with a red white and blue diagonal strip across it. The 2006 away kit was to commemorate that kit.

It was decided only that orange would be a more distinctive colour. Orange because our royal family's name is the house of Orange.

I heard that sadamm's son wanted them to play liked Brazil during the WC. Iraq also switched their jersey to the black sometime between the two Gulf Wars as a protest against the UN sanction.

Brazil used to wear an all white home kit until after the 1950 world cup.

after they lost to uruguay, they thought the kit was unlucky so they decided to change it to the famous yellow green and blue colours.

They organized an opened competiation for the design. The winner was a Brazlian who grew up on the border next to Uruguay. He spent his entire childhood watching TV from Uruguay, crossing the border, etc. He said that he supported Uruguay in the WC 1950 Finals even through he was Brazil.

Colombia shifted from orange with a peruvian-like banderole but in the flag colors yellow, blue, red (in the 70es and 80es) and the yellow-blue-red shirt-short-socks combo (90es and 00es) to recently yellow, white, with marine applications.

Scotland used to play in the colours of the former Prime Minister, the Earl of Rosebery before they stuck with the blue kit. A mix of pink and yellow that jockeys on his horses wore before football came along. It was used on and off again from 1881 until 1909. Archibald Primrose was an honorary president of the SFA and Hearts (who always used his racing colours).

Andrew Watson, the first black man to play international football in the Primrose colours in 1882.

It came back as an away kit from 1947 to 1951. Then disappeared until it came back as any away kit in 2014.
