Its not Aramark personnel, its the GB's crew. I got some chips on Tuesday and I recognized the guy at the counter as the manager or owner (not sure which but I've seen him regularly at both the Sloans Lake and Arvada locations. He also recognized me). The rest of the crew was also wearing GB's gear, not Aramark, and some of them looked familiar. So I assume this is essentially a 5th GB's location but only open during events. Chips were just as good as you get at their other locations.
That's the info I heard as well. Looks like Ives has the name as well. Guy has great diagonal crossing ability. There's a feature on him on the website and he is interviewed in the academy video on the website as well.
That is how Smiling Moose did it back when they had a location. Didn't bring enough business to be worth it to them. Which is unfortunate since it was the best food option we have had (excepting GB since I didn't get a chance to try it last game.)
That gives some hope. The folks running the previous BBQ stand never seemed to have a clue what they were doing.
And if they're close the league has kind of "looked the other way" on the international requirement right at the roster compliance day. They won't get a pass until midseason, but if they can expect cards with the month (and if Aigner and Boateng have left the country, I assume they are expecting them that quickly, otherwise they'd miss the season) the league won't force the Rapids to make moves just to be compliant for a couple of weeks.
Some of the best news we’ve heard this off season! Opens up quite a few possibilities. I assume, as Hudson eluded to, another signing is coming. Now if we could just complete the trifecta or at least get some news on Badji’s status.......
Sam Vines...I spent 5 minutes wondering why that name was familiar. Then I remembered I've read all of Terry Pratchett's discworld novels. I expect a chant or tifo tie in from y'all!
#Rapids96 sign defender Sam Vines, an 18-year-old from Colorado Springs, to a homegrown contract: https://t.co/0KEwrbK8lM by @kylenewmandp— Denver Post Rapids (@rapidsnews) February 23, 2018 Vines was on the team sheet Tuesday against Toronto, but didn't get to dress for the match. Will be interesting to see his development. https://t.co/sgnu25Ov9t— Daniel Boniface (@danielboniface) February 23, 2018 I wonder if he'll be primarily a wingback for the Rapids? Any thoughts?
This is also a big move for the club because it shows a fundamental shift in the FO around these issues. I can't think of a quicker green card in team history than these two. Given that it takes several months for applications to be reviewed they must have started Aigner's pretty much as soon as he signed the contract. Some cubs, specifically Seattle, have been very aggressive in this area but historically the Rapids haven't been. This shows an FO who really is committed to using everything they can in building a roster. I wonder if Ena Patel's hire helped with this as well.
None of us could have predicted this with these two players at this time. I'm hoping that Badji's next. I've been wondering how the situation would play out with the internationals on the roster. Now there's an answer. Let's hope that there are some top notch players being lined up by Pádraig & Co. for those spots. Why the heck does a green card applicant have to return to his home country as part of the process? I can understand having to do so for a visa, but a green card? Hard to imagine Ena Patel isn't the mastermind here.
I assume he is. The process takes several months to go through review so its possible Aigner's and Boateng's just got through the system faster. Or the Rapids, knowing that the process requires a trip home, are being strategic and spacing them out to reduce the impact on the team. Well this move just gets us back to compliance. We now have 8 spots and 8 internationals. It would require another move (Wynne to Charlotte, Bajdi/Gashi green card, etc.) to open up a spot for a new signing. I found that surprising too but I did some research tonight and it appears that it requires an interview at the home consulate. It seems like it is possible under some circumstances to have that interview here but presumably those circumstances don't apply here. Well she only joined a month or so ago. I'm sure she helped the process since then but at least for these two (and any others that get green cards before midseason) the process had to start before she was hired.
Great interview with Doyle on his post-playing career life, concussions, his next steps, etc. Conducted by former Rapids employee Richard Clarke: https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Se...=1873626703&recentlyadded=all&sortby=17&sts=t

Its been reported that on top of Patel, the Rapids also have an immigration attorney on staff as well.
Josh Gatt is still trying to catch on with a team and they just got the devastating news that his wife has been diagnosed with a rare cancer. A fundraising page has been set up here to help them out: https://www.gofundme.com/loveformelissa
