Darius Madison, late of Rochester Rhino's has joined North Geelong Warrior in Australia NPL (Victoria/West) joining another YA Kene Eze 23 y/o Darius is a forward, born in Philadelphia. Played for Phil. Union Academy, Virginia Cav's, then Kitsap Pumas, before joining Rochester
Kene's no longer there - he's back home in NJ now. Darius replaced him. Fitting into the lineup well, could have had two or three more goals but forced some decent saves. Gave the defense fits the whole game. He's going to post some gaudy numbers over these next few weeks as he finds his rhythm. He's only been there for a little over a week so far.
I would hope so! Madison has almost 20 USL games to his credit already -- hard not to think that level is pretty far above Australian D2. How/why did he end up there? Just looking to shake things up?
Just looking for a fresh start in a new market. The team loved Kene while he was there, so they were looking for as good a replacement as they could get. With Rochester and the NASL's situation, Darius was out of contract, the market was flooded with free players, and it proved an easy and appealing transition.
Darius played 90) & forced a penalty that helped North Geelong Warriors win their 2nd of the season 0 - 2 over Brunswick City in Australia's NPL
Drew two penalties, actually. Also hit wide right a penalty of his own that he didn't draw. He wants that one back for sure. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2001804103409805

He's done well this season. 12 goals so far, he's in the running his Golden Boot. It took awhile to get clicking - there was a coaching change but the new guy has gotten the most out of him. 9 goals in his past 8 games.
He did find his groove, but now he's leaving Australia: North Geelong has been dealt a horror blow in quest for promotion, mutually parting ways with American striker Darius Madison. Madison will play his final game for the club in Saturday’s clash with Springvale White Eagles at Elcho Park and will return to the United States shortly after. Madison’s depature leaves the Warriors thin up top, with the striker contributing 15 goals in 22 league games. He netted 13 times in 25 games in 2018. https://www.geelongadvertiser.com.a...w/news-story/0224509f36d1c80448c33c0c3c2871f1
