No, I don't think so. Only two allocated players are cap free. After that, tget are charged against the cap at the minimum salary. No way Agnew isn't minimum salary, so from a cap standpoint it's irrelevant.

Secret’s out, I’m in H-Town! Preseason Day 1 Year 6 ✔️ Lovely to be back with the some old mates @abrooks22 @Beeyoncs @KealiaOhai @TiffanyWeimer 😉— Mana Shim (@meleanashim) February 20, 2018
In the RSL forums, we have noticed a trend with RSL's roster of very short players in Midfield as well. When you have a 5'4" and 5'6" as your 2 starting wingers and fill that in with guys under 6' you tend to have a short team. But hopefully they make up for it with speed?
CourageCountry: unfortunate injury news. Mackenzie Doniak tore her ACL during first day of pre season. We want 2 wish Mac a quick &full recovery. She has been a massive part of our club last few years & we will be with her every step of her recovery. ❤️ #grittoday#growthtomorrow— PHR (@prileyfury4life) February 23, 2018
Well, I guess that's not exactly what they were planning in Washington when they were thinking about trimming down their team, but in the end trimming it is... Congratulations to Williams.
Dash signed Kyah Simon today and Pauw expects her to start at CAM. The rub here is I don't see Mewis and Simon starting together because they play the same position. That means with two opportunities to get players to fill starting roles the Dash front office somehow got two players to fill one role. That is so Dash.
I think this is a flawed argument as the premise is false or at most subjective. I disagree with the notion that Mewis position is at CAM. For me she’s a lesser version of Nairn and at best is average or below average at every position in the midfield. She is definitely not someone that you look at and think you have a position settled especially not a position as important as CAM. Mewis will be fine anywhere in the midfield and I think bringing in Simon is a smart move if Houston is serious about getting this Press experiment to work.
OK, I agree that it might be too early to rule out Mewis entirely without seeing what the formation is but it is hard to see where u put her that she doesn't rub up against another of their moves. They drafted Hanson #1 to play the 8 and brought Shim into camp. Mewis isn't a 6. Even pushing Daly to defense they have better players in the wide spots. In a couple years Morgan Brian is coming back and Dash fans r going to wish the team had just held onto her rights. Look what Washington turned Crystal Dunn into by playing the long game.
I know that Christie Pearce told two writers (including Scott French) last July that 2017 was going to be her last season. Still, the complete silence surrounding her disappearance this season has been surprising, at least to me. I know that other players have retired without making any public announcement of it. I think that Carla Overbeck did. Still, for somebody with 311 caps and all her other credentials to simply vanish without anybody making any comment on the fact that she's gone does seem surprising. Or am I so out of the loop that I'm the only one who's surprised?

I guess I'm too gullible. I suppose that she can reappear on the Sky Blue roster at the last moment if she wants to.
