Maybe they're not in that stage yet. The original source says the teams are starting to talk to the player's agent.
In case there's any sort of interest in France (or Europe), Jeonbuk doesn't want to scare away any possibilities of a transfer.
odd...but showing that there is interest, then they could draw more attention. eh, what ever floats their boat
He might not have made the trial but it seems like he's doing pretty well during preseason. Probably with an eye towards coaching and learning English -- Lee Jung Soo (38 yo) WC 2010 goal scorer signs with USL team Charlotte Independence http://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/887360?referrer_id=2364194
I haven't been to Charlotte but I've been to Greensboro before and there's a decent amount of Koreans there. I'm sure he'll settle down well in Charlotte. I've only heard of nice things about that city.

Good for Kim Ki-hee for trying out a new league, but that doesn't mean that he'll get any better as a defender. He's been mediocre with the national team. The man has been practically riding on that 3-5 minutes he played in 2012 Olympics his entire career. Pretty much the only reason why Middle Eastern/Chinese clubs took interest in him in the first place.
This is what I was hoping for too, but he's actually moving to the MLS in hopes of making it to the WC this year.....We don't need another defender that falls apart under pressure and can't clear a simple ball. Kim Ki-hee is one of those players that should have been gone after Stielike was sacked.
I think he's off radar now for the KNT. It's almost sure that Kim MJ, Jang HS, Kwon KW and one of [Hong JH, Kim YG, Jung SH] will go to Russia unless big form losses or injuries.
Has there ever been a player who’s rode his luck on the KNT like Kim KH? 30 second appearance at the Olympics to be military exempt? Check. Cash out in China? Check. Somehow play on the KNT under a delusional idiot who valued members in the oilfields and middle suckdom? Check. Rollover the cash into artificial grassland with good food and endless rain? Check. Somehow squeeze into the world cup because of the ridiculous move? Ughhh....
Kim Kee-hee’s agent, Kim Jin-won, told the Korean media that he chose the Sounders after “turning down multi-million dollar offers from Saudi Arabia and UAE to go to a team that gives him the best chance to play in the World Cup this summer.”— Steve Han • 한만성 (@realstevescores) February 21, 2018 Does his income also get an upgrade? lol
Lol going to the US League won't increase his WC chances. The coaching staff won't even bother scouting him. He should've went to the K-League if he really hoped for a chance.
I'm not saying MLS is the worst league in the world, but it's really hard to understand KKH's thought process... I mean, how will the MLS gig increase his WC chances at this point? Enough to turn down "multi-million dollar offers from Saudi and UAE"?
Lol Seattle Sounders just lost to a Salvadoran team called Santa Tecla. I wonder if Shanghai Greenland Shenhua would have lost to this team...
