CR7 and Benzema are just 2 players but I think they fully account for Madrid being 17 points behind Barca in the league. So, no, it doesn't hurt.

Its almost hard to score as little as they have this season when you ride the Isco-Kroos-Modric train. Somehow Madrid still has 50 league goals when these 2 donkeys combine for only 10 (excl pks) and Bale has been injured most of the season.

Probably hurts you more bending over for character like Penaldo [emoji23] so what's it gonna be? Another pair of twins?

Overall, it maybe hindsight. However, during the game, it was clear to me that Celso was out of his depth and needed to be substituted (at half time). I was surprised to see him back on the pitch in the second half. Emery has so many options!!!

Also, sometime into the second half, when Real was in the ascendency, it was clear to me that Di Maria was needed to engage Marcelo on the left. Di Maria is in form at the moment. And Di Maria is a better attacking option than Alves.

I think these changes were no brainers (at least the Celso one) for anyone.

Emery realized that Real were in the ascendency and made some changes. The changes worked for some time in that the attacks through the left side subsided for some time. PSG did send balls in the Real box; however, there was no one to convert those into goals when Cavani was withdrawn. The blame is squarely on Emery this time.

Just to add, there were many times this season that ZiZou subbed-out Isco and it backfired. He did it again and it worked, but I still say it was a dumb move since its failed in general throughout the season. Actually LPB would have the best record in La Liga if you take halftime scores as being final. A remarkable statistic when you consider they are in reality 17 points behind!

Isco is so good. It's strange why he keeps doing that. He's pretty stubborn.

Good week in general for Spanish clubs in Europe.

    - Early scare for Atletico as they went 1-nil behind to Koebenhavn, but have since scored 4 away goals. 1-4
    - Villarreal just bagged an away goal in Lyon. Now just trailing 2-1. Oh, Lyon just scored. 3-1
    - Bilbao wins 3-1 on the frozen turf in Moscow.
    - Sociedad concede a 90th minute goal at home to RedBull Salzburg. 2-2.

    Other notable results:
    - Dortmund with a late goal to beat Atalanta 3-2. But going back to Italy for the second leg.
    - Celtic up 1-nil on one of the top favorites, St. Petersburg.
    - Napoli trailing 1-2 at home to RB Leipzig
    - 2 of the other top favorites, Milan and Arsenal, both get 3-nil away wins.

Edit: and Leipzig get a third away goal in Naples! Guess Napoli can focus on the Serie A title race now.
No further changes to the other scores listed above.

Would be funny if the Europa final ended up being RB FC Salzburg v RB FC Leipzig. UEFA and their sponsors would have fits over that.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that since almost half the goals he scores are from tab ins inside the box

Thinking this over, I really have to disagree. Here is why.

At the time of the substitution, Madrid were dominating and the score was tied. PSG did not need to score a goal. 1 x 1 was a great away result for them. So with Madrid dominating, I don't see a problem with Emery trying to sure up the defense. If he puts Di Maria in, he'd have to take Mbappe out. That's the natural sub and really doesn't change anything tactically.

The problem, as I see it, is that instead of playing defensive to deny Madrid another goal and maybe hitting them on the counter with Neymar and Mbappe's speed, somehow PSG started dominating play. They really didn't play defensively and we all know, their defense isn't that great to start with.

What I do agree with is that Celso guy should have been off. Not sure what the story is there.

    BS.

Neymar gave the ball to Cavani once at 5:18 and Cavani had the shot blocked.
He also tried to give the ball to Cavani on two other occasions at 2:30 and 3:15.

In the goal scored, Mbappe may have been trying to get the ball to Cavani who let it go to Neymar. Tough to say. Mbappe also did not have much of the ball in positions where he could assist Cavani and Neymar. The ball seemed to go more to Neymar.

Just because there were no successful passes to Cavani, it doesn't mean they didn't try. Often so called journalists are biased and are trying to stir the pot by distorting facts. In this case they couldn't even get the fact straight because Neymar did give the ball to Cavani 1 successfully and tried a couple of other times.

Blimey, have yiy rewatched the whole game in slow motion? Neymar didn't pass the ball to Cavani, it ended up with him by accident. Also Neymar should have been sent off for his pathetic dive in the second half after he had already been booked.

Well to PSG defence the ref let many challenges and fouls go by unnoticed for LPB and no cards but easily called fouls and yellow cards for PSG. LPB was hacking on Neymar with ease and ref ignored everything. Same trap Neymar always falls into.

5:14 is a clear pass to Cavani. I don't see the accident.

Probably should have gotten a 2nd yellow. Kroos also didn't get a yellow for diving at the beginning of the game.

Plus, Neymar has assisted Cavani often this season including one today. And I bet Mbappe has assisted Cavani as well.

Here is the moment Marcelo passed the ball to Kroos who was in an offside position before the penalty call. Curious how there was no replay of it...

Munir scored a Golazo for Aláves to beat Depor 1-0.

Valencia have come back to lead Malaga 1-2. I will stop rooting for teams playing against Malaga on the day they’re mathematically relegated. #IHaveADream

Atletico have only dropped 4 points out of the last 33. About time they start dropping some. Out of their last 11 wins, 8 are by 1 goal margin and 7 are by 1 x 0. Crazy.

Need them to keep winning if Barca are going to win the league at home against LPB. :p

Btw, I know they have two games-in-hand but Real Madrid are 20 points behind Barca in the table atm! 20! :D

Offside is judged the moment the pass is made, thus the ball would still be at the feet of the person passing the ball.
For those who don't know how offside works.
