All those seem pretty decent. Should the MLS let clubs use a different manufacturer if they so chose?
It's been done. When every team had its own supplier, it was nearly impossible to find replicas for some teams and the quality of available merchandise varied greatly. The Adidas deal brings continuity, stability, and, most importantly, money for the entire league.
I understand what you are saying about bringing $$ to the league, but the league was totally different back when each team had their own suppliers. Different league, different soccer culture in the US, different technology. Finding replicas won't be a problem moving forward. Heck, you can find a replica from just about any team in the world now a days without a problem.
Unless you want a knock off replica (that does NOT help your team btw) it will be an issue. MLS jersey sales are still relatively very small when compared to other leagues. adidas is making an effort to have MLS be at a higher level than they really are. If it gets broken up to different suppliers then you will only have the big market teams as the ones being seen and available anywhere in the US and forget about globally.
Of course not, because you don't pay the bills. Here in the real world money talks and bullshit walks. And Adidas has the money
Anyone seen LAFC kits yet? Hoping they give us Juventusesque Black and White stripes with gold trim and numbers.
I would be shocked if the primary isn't black and gold. All of their merchandise up until this point has been black and gold and the socks they've been training in have been black/gold.
So we should expect a hot pink top then? As a completely random aside, pink or fuchsia is a color I'd love to see Miami employ into its look somehow, it's an underrated color (especially as a trim) and it would fit the city just fine. They'll probably just go with teal and orange though.
Either one of those as a soccer jersey and you've got a hot selling item from Miami to Madrid and Montevideo with the right players. I don't think teal and orange will be used unless Marlins/Dolphins ownership gets involved. Think the new team will want colors that inspire purchases, not wearing that other orange shirt.
Yeah them, and not to mention I'm sure Garber and company don't want to deal with yet another lawsuit from Silva....
If you told either city to just use the other city, they'd both look at you weird. They have different colors. Being one in the desert and the other, not.
You really don't understand what a professional sports league is, do you? Do you expect MLS to be run like a non-profit? I really don't get how some people can be so clueless/entitled/unrealistic.
It's so charming that AUFC is paying tribute to California, the largest producer of peaches in the country, and South Carolina, the second-largest!
