If we want, we can discuss this tournament here as well: The LA Galaxy Cup. Looks like the competition is late March/early April. Looks like they're trying to start a competition similar to the Dallas Cup! Three @MLS academy teams added to the #LAGalaxy’s inaugural international youth tournament: https://t.co/PDm4VowcPc— LA Galaxy Academy (@LAGalaxyAcademy) January 17, 2018 The LA Galaxy announced today that the Academy teams of three Major League Soccer teams – Los Angeles Football Club, Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake – will participate in the inaugural LA Galaxy Cup. The LA Galaxy Cup is the club’s inaugural international tournament that will see world-class teams from across the globe competing in Southern California with Boys’ & Girls’ Development Academy & Club teams at the U-12–U-19 level. The three MLS sides will join the tournament following the additions of various international Academy teams, including Premier League sides Manchester United and Swansea City A.F.C., Mexico’s Club Tijuana and Portugal’s FC Porto.
Last 2 teams are in the Super Group: Brazil's EC Vitoria and Japan's Higashi Fukuoka. No U.S. U20s. http://www.dallascup.com/two-time-super-group-champion-ec-vitoria-joins-2018-gordon-jago-super-group
Unfortunate. I'm thinking of going up from Austin for the last weekend to watch, especially if there is an MLS academy in the final. And just to see some of the other prospects in our pipeline.
The best part for me is wandering around the outer fields to take in a whioe bunch of different age levels and teams. I actually think the least fun games to watch are the Supergroup games in the cavernous Cotton Bowl. Unless a team you support is playing......................
Anyone interested in going PM me and maybe we can meet up and watch some stuff together. I don't make everything but it's more fun with others anyway.

They actually recorded all their games on the Atlanta United facebook page if anyone wants to watch. They are a damn fun team to watch (most teams probably are when they score 7 and 4 goals). But a few players looked really good including Deedson Vixamar, whom I've never heard of until these games. He dominated all the outside backs thrown at him.
Deedson Vixamar came out of no where. He doesn't even have a profile with USSDA. A really good find Atlanta United. Wouldn't be surprised to see him with ATL 2 if he keeps this up.
https://www.gofundme.com/deedson Here's a GoFundMe page that was setup for what seems to be his family. Relevant parts are that he's from Haiti and that he left his family (including his mother and father) to live with a sponsor family and go to school. Seems to be flourishing, which is awesome. On the Updates tab, it says that his "adopted" father will be handling all the donations. If it's an official adoption, it obviously has citizenship implications for a minor, although they could be using that term unofficially to indicate that they view him as part of the family. Either way, makes me happy that he's getting an opportunity here and seemingly making the most of it.
Great find. What a story. Hopefully he keeps showing well and gets a chance to at least train with ATL 2.

Did anybody else see the GenAd Champions Division Groups that were leaked by NYCFC last night? I went looking for them again to post here...............and "poof" they were gone.
GenAd Cup groups announced (as noted in another thread). This release from MLS has a different grouping than in the other thread. And yes this competition also takes place in Frisco at the same time as the Dallas Cup. Insane couple of weeks for youth soccer in DFW. One thing to be aware of... a child adopted before age 16 goes right to being a citizen. A child adopted at age 16 or later only gets a Green Card (this happened to Kekuta Manneh).
We're only a week out from the Dallas Cup starting! I'll post updates regarding the broadcasting schedule when I see them. Also........................the competition seems to be taking the U14 level fairly seriously this year. This is where some of the USL academies are competing this season. Announcing the teams for 1st annual @drpepper Dallas Cup @UnivisionSports Super 14s. Selected games will be broadcast throughout the week. We're only days away from the Dallas Cup starting, and the number of cool posts on their twitter feed increase. Can you name the 4 new USMNT callups that are also Dallas Cup alums? If I hadn't gotten a hint, I wouldn't have gotten the one on the bottom. Congratulations @drpepper Dallas Cup alum on receiving your 1st #usmnt callup.
