This was one of the most entertaining 2nd halves...(halfs?) I've seen in a long time. The first half was a hard fought game and equalish.

The second half, however, Almeyda(WHY!!!) subbed out Orbelin, and left us with one mid(Perez). Monterrey had no mid, as well--that's why Sanchez was eventually subbed in for Monterrey. There was a mofo'n void in the midfield(from both sides) that made it a ping pong match in the porterias--with Chivas fairing a little better in play, but Monterrey winning in score.

Good thing Monterrey had no mid because Chivas would have suffered in everything. Pulido and Pizarro were constantly dropping down to the mid, trying to help Perez out and we lost a lot in the box, where it was only occupied by Ronaldo, as Pulido and/or Pizarro were left out of the play, behind.

One good thing I did see was our side play. I wonder why?...(coughs)Hernandez was subbed out(coughs). Our laterals was where we had to mostly filter the ball through, and did well for the most part. But, we missed two sitters and Pulido hit one on the post.

    Loved them Zandolval centros.

One thing for, both Brizuela and Sandoval need to start

What’s going on with Mayorga? The few games he played last season he looked good and even sat out Aris. The dude has height and speed. Wouldn’t be such a bad idea to try him out as a CB

Who would you sub out for Brizuela and Sandoval?

It's not what's wrong with Mayorga; it's what is wrong with Almeyda's(and I love the coach) judgement of Aris being the starter over Mayorga, Brizuela, Cisneros, etc.

Having backups is certainly hurting us at CB.

I actually thought Chivas put up a good fight.. I dont criticize the team as heavily as others here. I do agree that if we need an improvement it is in the defense

Yep. They played great. People complain about the defense, but they are not as bad as people make it...I mean, they're backups.

    We saw dynamic winger/lateral play.

Good fight or not this defeat was bad for the team's aspirations this season. Today's rant is brought to you by the number 4:

Chivas has played 4 league games.

    They have 4 points

4 points divides them from 1st and last place

I would add what has been worrisome of this team besides the leaky defence is that they struggle too much with home games.

Both home games this season have been defeats: 1-3 to Cruz Azul and 1-2 against Monterrey. Allowing 5 goals in 2 home games: no bueno.

Chivas next match is away against Puebla who ironically have won their two games played at home against Tigres and Veracruz. What will make this match more difficult for the goats is that the team's seleccionados will either not play or be tired.

IMO, this will be a very important game for Chivas, similar to the Necaxa match, because its against an accessible opponent and we won't have too many of these match-ups.

After Puebla the team hosts Santos who currently have an on-fire Djaniny. Statistically he is currently one of the best players in Liga MX. And with a leaky defence and poor home field we might as well roll out the welcome mat for the Brazilian striker.

Love the conspiracy theory-esque without a thesis beginning. Four sure.

It's your opinion that this next game is important?
And it's your opinion it is important because it will be with a..."theoretical" easy team?

Wow. Are you speaking of Chivas or Atletico Saca-Chispas? You speak of chivas like we are fighting for delegation.

It’s still way too early in the season and we are only 4 points away from the first place teams

This is no time to start panicking

Make some much needed adjustments in the backline and we’ll be fine

I actually think we have been quite well in the backline, in general. We usually play in competitive games, and most of the time we play "better" than opponent.

The rub is that there are spots in games where we completely collapse in the defensive coordination--usually when we are caught in counters. The maneuvering of defense is awful, and that is usually when/how we get vacunados.

Don't know if it is Almeyda or the lack of quality because of backups or lack of continuity because of injuries. They play well for most game, and give up a gol in a blink, ruining their good effort in one or two plays.

I agree, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the team fails to make the playoffs again. As it is Chivas has only won Six out of their last 31 games.

Almeyda is very likeable so fans/media cut him slack. Any other coach and they would be asking for his head. I should specify that I'm not asking for Mati to get sacked, I'm just highlighting the situation.

This is where your bias and lack of substantial opinions glow. He is a couple of months shy of still being the coach of a championship team.

What are you even talking about?

You say you're "not asking for his head," but somehow are surprised "they aren't asking for his head."

"I'm not saying this pie should be thrown away immediately, but I wonder why people aren't saying this pie should be thrown away immediately."

    lulz.

You added the "surprised" part because you are either trolling or didn't comprehend what I wrote.

That Almeyda just won a league title doesn't grant him permanent immunity. Last season was bad and fans still believe in him - as they should but the negative numbers are stacking up against him.

Also, remember that many coaches have been sacked after winning a league title or shortly after that. I dont know if you follow the team closely but it is common knowledge that JLH and Almeyda don't get along.

If this administration has shown us anything it is that they don't care who is at the helm be it the De la Torres, Lablvolpe or Croit they will send you packing if it suits their agenda.

Is that what you're focusing on--the word "surprised"? You work at Fox? You aren't surprised?
Then, why this quote? (rhetorical) Por lo menos disimula.

Permanent immunity? And you think I am trolling. Jesus. He's like two months removed from still being the championship coach and you are complaining he's "getting a pass"... or surprised "other" people aren't angry for him getting a pass. lulz

Your mind is warped, dude. You cannot have insightful things to say if you can't be at least somewhat objective and without insanely biased agenda...and be full of conspiracy theories.

I'm not complaining, I'm stating the obvious that Almeyda is very popular with the Chiva fan base and this has shielded him from further criticism.

Which is not surprising, lol. On the contrary it's to be expected. Another popular coach that can have a bad season or play poorly and not incur the wrath of fans is Ricardo Ferretti. And this is something they earned.

I also don't blame the club's poor form solely on Almeyda. I have written in the past how JLH likes to meddle with the team. I even wrote on this forum that this would ultimately lead to the Argentines departure from the club.

Stating the obvious!? You, yourself, seem to be the only one saying this; and you even admitted this in your own words:
Meaning, "they"..."fans/media" are not saying anything, like you say, so you are the ONLY one saying this, and passing it off as you are stating something OBVIOUS.

You know, crazy conspiratorial people, they too are surprised nobody else sees the "obvious" insanity they see/feel/etc.

    All mighty.

P.S. I already told you this is Almeyda's last season.

That is not a backline that is playing well.

I will not engage with your further because you don't know what you're talking about.

It's not a backline? Then, what is it called then? CBs? Defense?

If you think I don't know what I'm talking about...then what tickled your fancy to reply?

You doing a performing art piece, also?

While San Mati is very likable to chivas fans. That's not the reason why his head isn't being asked for. Chivas has a very distinct way of playing that is beautiful to watch. We play quality soccer that unfortunately we haven't been able to transform into points as of late. I am confident the points will come once Alanis starts and Marin is benched and we put away the chances we create.

As expected Chivas crashed at Puebla and will now face an uphill battle when they host Santos. A bad Santos results this week would be a helping hand, especially if Djaniny gets injured.

Salcido should of retired in a higher note but nahhh... this is what happens when the front office and Almeyda depends on their 2 starting CB's who are fragile and injured prone... too much money spent on those 2 and for alanis to bail on a free transfer que no mame. Marin, Jair, and Alanis should be transfer next season.
