I can't get through the address page, have tried multiple combinations with the "region" "district" and "house/apt" fields but still get this same error below. Any Canadians on here figure out the magic address formula for the fields in the second pic below?
Quick question- at the beginning of the application, it asks for “Ticket Request ID / Self-registration code”. What is everyone using? I don’t have a code, and only thing I can think of a ticket request is my profile name on FIFA. I wanted to double check first so I don’t submit the wrong thing and have to start over. Thanks in advance!
Think I found my answer. You get the number after you apply for tickets. I was thinking I needed the FAN ID before applying.
(From the Tickets Thread) Judging from TripAdvisor and here, there are many people having FAN-ID related postal issues from Brazil (stuck at customs), UK (one particular shipment has gone missing or stuck somewhere), and some similar story in Australia. Mine arrived about ten days after leaving Russia (in Western Europe). The timeframe for many Americans was about a month from leaving. Hopefully, yours isn't too far away.
Thanks for posting this here. For more context, am in Europe and know two other people who have applied. One has received the ID, the other has not, even though the one who has received it applied after the who who hasn't. Assume it will sort itself out but I sent a message to the help page on the Fan ID site. No response as yet so far.
07 December Applied 08 December Approved 04 January Arrived at the Post office (Moscow) 05 January Arrived at the customs of Russia, Sharapovo 10 January 2018, Released from Russia, Sharapovo 23 January Arrived at the customs of USA (JFK) 30 January Attempted Delivery in Chicago I just need to pick mine up from postal office....
Just an update ob this. No received the ID but have received an email from the help people saying I can apply for a duplicate if it is not received 2 months after the last update. At least they are aware of the issue.
Just thought I'd add my fan-id experience. 30/10/17 - Applied online. I chose the delivery to visa office option in my capital city (Sydney). No Email or SMS in this time although I did notice the status had changed from processing to printed. 23/01/18 - Received SMS saying it had been delivered to the VFS office. 24/01/18 - Picked it up. For anyone picking up in Sydney at Kent St, when you come out of the elevators turn left and go to "VFS Austria, Sweden etc". Do not try pick it up from the VFS UK or VFS India office like I did! 25/01/18 - Received Email asking if I had picked up my fan-id. Also received a second email stating that the office has changed. All in all a pretty smooth process although it seems if you pick delivery to visa office they do not provide any tracking details.
My ID arrived today. Just posted through the letterbox. Previous tracking info never changed from "released from Russian customs". I checked this morning and it said - "delivered!" I went and looked for the mail, and there it was! Has anyone read the rules of what I need to do with it? Do I have to wear it 24/7? If so it scuppers my plan to "blend in" by having a fringe!
I think on match days you are meant to wear it outside your shirt but presumably only at the game. I think it gives all the details on the back in tiny wording.
You'll also have to show your Fan ID and your game ticket on match days to use public transit for free. I don't think you need to wear it 24/7, but I'd bring it with you wherever you go, including on days when you're not going to a game.
Why would you need to wear it not on game days. it is not exactly small and one should be very keen not to lose it?
maybe because its in place of a VISA? Not sure how reliable this is: https://russiable.co.uk/2018-russia-world-cup-travel-guide/ But they are saying "5.1. Passport You must always carry the original passport during your stay (no photocopies), in case it’s requested by the police. In any case you will need it to register at the hotel, to buy a Russian SIM card to connect to the Internet, for train travel between cities, etc. You must also carry your FAN ID card."
Your fan-id is your visa so you would need to show it to police, stores to buy a SIM (like in other countries likely) at the hotel, to get in and leave the country just like a visa for any other country. No need to wear it around your neck 24/7 though.
(From ticket thread) I doubt that. As long as the address is in a language that the receiving country can read it should be good enough to get to its destination. Russian mail is notoriously slow. Some Russian websites say international postage will take 5-7 weeks instead of the month they have been telling people.
Figured it was time to get my Fan ID sorted, seeing as they’re about to be inundated with requests once the next round of tickets gets allocated. I didn’t get many answers to my questions about photos, but if anyone else is still struggling to get theirs accepted my advice is to ignore the part where they tell you no photoshop is allowed. It was the only way I could get the background white enough to be accepted by the website. In the end, I just took a selfie with the front camera of my phone (iPhone 7 Plus) and did some colour adjusting with the Adobe Photoshop Express app. Now I can start watching the mailbox like the rest of you
Seriously US/Canadian citizens , stop moaning about everything The world is not here to serve you , the mail will take more time than a mail for a country in Europe....
I wonder about that. Looks to me that the issue is the packages leaving Russia. From there it has nothing to do with the Russian system. Am in London. Would think they still use horse and cart the length of time it has taken to get here.(as of today not yet). If this is till the case in a week will go for a duplicate and have it sent to the London visa office.
One month after arriving in Sao Paulo, finally my Fan-ID was registered as "received" by the Brazilian Post Office in Curitiba! Good news for the Brazilians!

FYI, mine was "released from Russia" on 15 December and arrived at my home on 13 January. So more than 4 weeks. Between those dates, there was another notification on 4 January "arrived at the customs of the USA".
