Son of Lamp's departure seems like a starting goalkeeper (Casillas?) ought to be coming from somewhere. Sanchez and Cleveland aren't at the level yet that a team the quality of the Fire demands.
Speaking of which I know they liked last year's second rounder Guillermo Delgado enough to have him train with the team mid-season. He was cut last year for want of an international spot.
It appears that signing a starting quality LB and a starting quality CB should be priorities in this transfer window. Vincent is well respected around the league, trade him for some TAM/GAM deliciousness and sign a decent LB.
Being reported that in fact the free agent we are interested in is Alan Gordon... I hated him with SJ but he'd be a great option off the bench....his hold up play and late in games for corners/set pieces would be great for us.....anyways its officially official that Quintero is gone....sooo who are are we signing now. Still am mad we traded Accam although if Philly does sell him, I'm happy we'd get a pretty good cut of it.
Like I said, N-Rod has a ton of work to do in order to improve his so called "championship program". Right now I guess we finish maybe 8th or 9th in the east.
Oh.Hell.No! That over the hill talentless homophobic hack would not be anything other than waste of money off the bench or anywhere. I am over the Accam trade already.
I'll be over it when we spend that money on someone equivalent. Quintero would have done it. Right now we're going to be playing Niko on an island with 4 defenders around him. Not good.
Meram wants out of Columbus. Wouldn't be a blockbuster, but would be a good pick-up. I wonder what Columbus wants for him.
I would love Meram! I actually am not against Gordon as an off the bench forward if he doesn't cost much in salary. I hope Philly sells Accam for a lot to Europe this year and we really get some money (and do not have to watch him run past us) but in the end it is what move we make yet (bigger) that matters with the moneys we already have. I am not opposed to losing Vincent. I like him especially if he gets more aggressive offensively...but have never had as high a hopes on him as many and certainly do not see him as a USA LB calibre.

Vincent & Polster are in the pool because of lack of options. As long as Beasley & Cherundolo were around there were no issues, but no other options developed since.
I would take Chad Barrett back in a heart beat over Alan Gordon...and everyone knows my opinion of Chad Barrett*. Take Alex, sprinkle with a bit of Quincy Amarikwa, and you get my opinion of Chad Barrett. My objection to Alex, Quincy and Barrett is based solely on the fact that none of the three are very good soccer players (but think they are great). My objection to Alan Gordon is that he is also a "not very good soccer player" and a homophobe to boot. Oh, and he is almost 37 years old, has awful, awful hair and wears that stupid ass headband. If we were going to sign Alan Gordon, we should have kept David the moderately tall Arshakyan. At least David is young and a full international player for Armenia. *I just checked and, yes, Chad Barrett is available, RSL having declined his 2018 option, Barrett having made only three appearances in 2017. Hell, at least he is "only" 32.
What happened with this rumor from Jan 5? Accam's replacement? https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...ire-linked-barcelona-turkey-winger-arda-turan
