He was a player that seemingly came out of nowhere....and that is where he went NEWS: Toronto FC Waive Mo Babouli📰: https://t.co/9yihGUUPIv#TFCLive pic.twitter.com/RNeNUEffna— Toronto FC (@TorontoFC) April 21, 2017
. @torontofc announced Tuesday that the club has signed forward Ben Spencer #TFCLive pic.twitter.com/fqbPre9ClY— Toronto FC MR (@TorontoFCMR) May 2, 2017 Interesting thing to me is that, counter intuitively, Home Grown Player status is transferable. He was home grown by RSL....it seems, but he maintains that even though he now plays for TFC....really should be called League Grown Status.

With the 5th and final pick in the 2017 Expansion Draft, #LAFC selects Raheem Edwards from @torontofchttps://t.co/oWz1C4fTrw pic.twitter.com/rAVPtxfoLp— LAFC (@LAFC) December 12, 2017
@MattDoyle76 was right about Raheem Edwards being taken in expansion draft....seems to be as wrong as I was about his international status though!https://t.co/Gcm9dBGb44 pic.twitter.com/pXGaDftjiK— Toarea Fan 🇨🇦 (@TOareaFan) December 12, 2017
gets worse....flipped to montreal Raheem flipped to #IMFC. It's a good move for him (think he'll play way more in Montreal than in Toronto. And good move for #IMFC, as they good a young, dynamic player they can use. Long-term benefits for #canMNT. Sad for #TFC that they lose him, but it doesn't hurt that much.— John Molinaro (@JohnMolinaro) December 12, 2017
Not sure why this trade took so long to announce....it had to have been pre-arranged......both of those expansion pics had people on twitter and online surprised and wondering “why?”......now we know why.

Latest rumor is Van der Wiel. Would make sense from a need standpoint, but not sure he's a fit from a character standpoint. Seemed to me his career was limited by lack of commitment to it rather than lack of talent. He was projected to be one of the best RBs in the world back when he was in his early 20s. Heard from a source this morning that Toronto FC are interested in former Ajax/PSG/Dutch International Gregory van der Wiel. The soon to be 30 year old RB currently plays with Cagliari of Serie A#TFCLive pic.twitter.com/mdPlWiA9U2— Steve-o Gennaro (@_sgennaro) January 21, 2018
According to the official site Eriq Zavaleta has resigned with the club https://www.torontofc.ca/post/2018/01/23/eriq-zavaleta-re-signs-toronto-fc

Mavinga had attitude problems too before he joined us and he seems to have turned things around. I think the atmosphere is so good at the club now that we can give potential bad apples the benefit of the doubt that they'll come good, at least as long as the team is doing well. I'd like to see us get a midfielder in the Cooper mold for the CCL to help with Concacaf antics (maybe get someone on loan from Central America and then either keep him or if the rumours are true sign the McAlister kid in the summer), and some CB depth too (if Hernandez re-signs that would pretty much do it). After that just re-sign Endoh, sign Kubel, sign a 3rd GK, and we're set!
