True, but probably just delaying the foolishness until the summer.

The last really bad transfer the club has made is probably Kaka.

With Sanchez coming into the squad, he's surely not going to be playing all that much.

If he doesn't bring in a CB at least on loan, Zidane is being negligent. If we have another injury or two, we might have Hakimi starting big matches on the right with only Nacho to cover at CB. Ramos gets a red card here, Varane with a niggle there, could get ugly. While I understand we have lost La Liga already, we still need to ensure at least 3rd place and try to win the CL or Copa. I'm sorry, I don't get his reluctance to at least try and grab a short term solution for depth purposes. Is there a buyback on Diego Llorente, and where'd that Lionheart guy from Castilla go?

Well at first you get caught up in rumors, then you start imagining fantasies. Next you wake up in a cold sweat and realize you've been dreaming and you're actually in a nightmare, like competing for a CL spot and no one scoring goals. Then you come on here and realize everyone is thinking the same thing you are.

You know, normal people thoughts, typically Arsenal or Bayern Munich supporter type of stuff.

Yeah (1)71m euros less 52% tax =34m euros (2) 63.5m is one time fee which i think you take away again 52%=30m euros unless signing on bonus are not taxed.
    (3) loyalty bonus is 70m over the remaining of his contract(4 years) 17.5 the season less 52% =8.4m euros (4) which is the easiest to get 1.9m euros less 52%=912000 (5) the hardest because messi and farca went 4 years without winning or having a sniff at the champions league so if he wins it for them he would only evee be around 70m euros thanks.

It was my understanding big teams pay their players’ tax.
I think we do. The only tax they pay in on any commercials endorsements but not on salary.

Thats why I am saying get him over here. he is the only winter signing that would actually give us more options, strengthen our squad and wouldn't cost that much fee plus wages. Always liked him since Monaco days. Let Zizou form him.

I'm ok with us not getting anyone this winter. Not like there are lots of options anyway. I was hoping the club could find someone in the shadows whom the mainstream fan or media didn't think of but I guess they couldn't. Is cool. Have a decent cup run and make it into the top 3 and it'll be ok. We have had so much success lately its ok to have a down year.

Having said that, this puts enormous pressure on the club to get it right next summer. They have to hit 2 or 3 home runs with their signings and sales. No excuses.

His wage demands are ridiculous. So much so that even opportunistic buyer clubs like Juventus and Bayern said no and walked away last summer.

Lienhart is on loan with Freiburg and Llorente does have a buy-back. But I don't think we are going to do anything in the CB position. Worst case scenario, Casemiro will cover if two of Ramos/Varane/Nacho are out.

Barcelona aren't paying all of Messi's income into his account in Spain. You're trying to be clever, but you're not.

Just stating the obvious don't know about farca dealings and i don't care but just to clarify the lies about messi earning 100m euros when he clearly might never be the case even with his signing on fee bonus and loyalty bonus he isn't guaranteed of it.

Of course he is, as i said, Spiegel claim to have copies of the documents and were not scared to show them. It's your assumptions vs people who have seen the documents. The signing fee and loyalty bonus are "one time payments", not broken up over multiple years.

In fact, they followed up on their story that Barcelona have been paying millions of Euros to the Messi Foundation for at least 3 years, the foundation has been declaring them as charitable donations before they were legally allowed to declare the money as a donation. Apparently, Messi's foundation has been falsely declaring donations as charity for 6 years (2007 to 2013).

Barcelona denying they have any agreement with Greizmann which means deal is done.

If there is some chance I think we should at least send a feeler to his agent. We all don't like his personality but he's good player. Zidane is pretty much the idol of all this generation of French players (except Mbappe of course who is a Ronaldinho fanatic and went to all his games) so a phone call from Zizou can go a long way.

What if this ends up being a Suarez like signing for them? 100M is not much for this kind of player in this day and age.

I’m not convinced Barca, after signing Dembele and Coutinho, has the cash for the transfer fee and more importantly room in their wage bill to bring Griezmann in this summer. I think they would have to move out a bunch of fringe players like Arda who don’t have much value just to make it happen. And most likely Suarez would have to leave too which I think they would be hesitant to do because of his friendship and understanding with Messi on and off the pitch. I guess we will see.

Does Theos brother still have a relatively low release clause? I'd look into going for him.

Did anyone catch the Dortmund game? That youngster Jadon Sancho got his 1st start. Looks like they found a new Dembele.

I hope you're right. After Dembele, I wouldn't want another good player headed to their team.

Barcelona allegedly already have the highest wage bill in football. Selling Rafinha and Denis Suarez does nothing to balance it out, especially now with Pique on big money too. Griezmann is going to earn not a cent less than Dembele or Coutinho.

I have no idea where all that money comes from.

Guardiola gets the very best out of players like him, both him and Sterling are playing the best football of their life because of this. He had Douglas Costa out there looking like tons of trouble and Coman looking like a top player in the making.
