I didn't even consider LAs number 2 draft pick. Definitely can see us wanting that in a trade if were losing Ola.
If we can get two attacking players and money from LA Galaxy I’m all for it.Then take the money and get that striker we were linked too Santiago Garcia. We would be a better team https://www.massivereport.com/2018/...rom-columbus-crew-sc-may-be-imminent-mls-2018
Anyone see the interview where Gregg said they might draft a GK in the first round ? Lol anything other than drafting a forward is a complete failure
Yeah, and that has to be intentional misdirection on his part. We're set at GK with Steffen clearly being God in the flesh, Kempin a replacement for Stuver with more upside, and Ketterer re-signing to hold down the reserve spot. Our first round pick should most likely be a forward or possibly a left back, depending on who's available come our pick. Pretty sure we'll get a starting LB from overseas, but we still need some depth there. Ola will either stay, or he'll jet and we'll replace him internationally.....but assuming this club has a future somewhere, we could use someone to make Jahns spot on the bench uncomfortable. If we can snag Mamadou Guirassy or Mohamed Thiaw at our pick, that would be legit.
One of the teams interested in out of contract, out of club #USMNT player Rubio Rubin are the Columbus Crew. Watch for LA Galaxy as a possible landing spot here too.— Kristian Dyer (@KristianRDyer) January 19, 2018 Introducing your Ola Kamara replacement, Rubio Rubin.
Hold off. He's on the allocation list, and that would require Precourt to actually invest in the team, which seems questionable at this rate.
Well, LA are second on the list. Maybe LA will get him there. Then send him to the Crew along with TAM/GAM/BAM/HAM for Kamara Easy. Though apparently December 10: FC Dallas traded the No. 11 spot in the Allocation Ranking Order along with Walker Zimmerman in exchange for the No. 1 spot in the Allocation Ranking Order, $250,000 in General Allocation Money and $250,000 in Targeted Allocation Money.
The guys facilitating the commentary roundtable did not comment whatsoever on Crew's pick. That was odd.
I feel that way sometimes. I know I'm posting a lot less here. I've stopped reading mls news and listening to mls podcasts.
The one commentator just said "I like to talk about these teams that did not make the playoffs" with regard to the Crapids. What about the fans being ******** by their club's owner and made it to the ********** Eastern Conference Final? Crickets. Muting.
At least it wasn't a guy who also takes an international slot. 3G almost always drafts one. Unless there is a trade (or Steffen sell off) this makes zero sense. I do not really care anymore.
Does the 2nd round guy (3G drafts a GA!) have a GC? Said he is Ghanain. Hope we didn't use a intl slot on a 2nd rounder.
He's been in the US for a while (HS, I think) and came over on a special program, so I'd expect that included his GC. But who knows??
If only someone could get the conference call number for Round 3 and 4. Then that someone could quietly chant "Save The Crew" through the whole call. Just enough to be heard but not enough for them to find which line it is.
What a joke we didn’t get a forward and now we have 4 GK unless we sell or immeadetly loan one of them it makes no sense because really we only need to 2 keepers with MLS rules. A 3rd would mean you keep a young devolpmental guy and loan him to Pittsburgh or somewhere . You have no leftbacks and 1 striker who wants to leave and his back up is 3rd string journeyman. Really looks like we’re tanking the season and selling Kamara, Meram & Steffen is prob the next step
The draft is no place to look for starters. Especially if we don't have a top 2 or 3 pick. I don't know why we took a keeper but if he's more promising than Ketterer, we strengthened a backup position. That's about as much as can be expected from rookies.
