Have made a decision to start fresh after a year away from soccer. This decision is solely based on the fact that I want to play as much as possible this year then move forward from there. Have discovered my love for the sport again 🙏🏿. News soon!— @FreddyAdu (@FreddyAdu) January 19, 2018
"after a year away from soccer."????? i think he's really been gone from soccer for a lot longer than that.........
Obviously you aren’t familiar with the type of training regimen it takes to even start to begin the process of planning to get ready for summer. He’s been running sprints at a fancy gym.
All the same...it’s unvelievable the coach in Sweden hasn’t played him yet. Is he trying not to get fired right away? Very strange.
Yes, that’s @FreddyAdu in a @lvlightsfc sweatshirt. He’s here at training today for a tryout. pic.twitter.com/M3LJ33k1hQ— Ben Gotz (@BenSGotz) January 23, 2018 OMG OMG OMG Season tickets done. Take my money.
Besides right now he is outside of time since he traveled forward from 2016 to 2020 to get a better time machine.
Obviously he f'd something up because he doesn't travel forward in time until he's traveled back and won us the 2014 WC.
When players have trials, who pays for this? Are they doing it thenselves out of their own pocket? Do clubs tend to enjoy giving them to players?
Depends on how much the club wants to get a look at the particular player, how many other clubs want to take a look at him and what the player's options are. If Man U, Arsenal or Bayern want to look at someone, they'll pay for the tickets and accommodation (possibly expenses), even if they have to fly him in (business class) from New Zealand. If it's a League One side taking a kid released by Man U, Celtic, or some other British club, they'd pay for accommodation and train tickets. If it's an Irish or British kid looking for his first pro club to get a start at going on trial in Leagues One or Two, the kid's family will probably pay for the lot. For Americans, the NCAA rules may have an impact. IIRC, it used to be that if a pro club paid for anything at all, college eligibility was lost for good. I don't know if that still applies.
