Botafogo kicked off the Carioca by trailing Portuguesa 2-0 and managed to scrap a draw in the final minute.

Boavista just whooped up on Fluminense 3-1. When you look at the team that played for Flu today, you'd think it is their reserve side, but the majority are actually starters.

I'd be surprised if this Flamengo x Botafogo game today isn't crazy. I'm looking forward to Dourado but no starting role for Rodinei yet? I saw one match this year and he had a killer cross to Vinicius Jr. I thought maybe he was turning the corner.

@Mengão86 Two questions , I've only seen Sao Paolo twice and I know Nene is old but aren't you a little surprised by how below average they look? Like I said this is my only second time seeing them this year but damn they kind of suck.
And thoughts on Flamengo's last two matches? You like Carepgianni? lol I remember us talking about him 4 years ago when he was ponte's manager. I never would have guessed he would make it back to a big club.

This SPFC reminds me of the Fla side that Dorival inherited. He isn’t going to work there.

I haven’t really been impressed with Flamengo. We aren’t really working the ball in the final third and threading it into the box. No combination plays that gets someone a clean look at goal. Most of our opportunities have been crosses. Dourado might thrive on some of that but it won’t be sustainable if we can’t created any other way. Only thing I like that Carp has done is get rid of Vaz and MA, but not even sure if he’s responsible for those departures. The board might have finally decided to do that because Zé Ricardo loves Márcio Araujo like Jay Gruden loves Rob Kelley and Ryan Grant.

You don't get a little feeling that this year could be "different"? Has Carp did any crazy ish yet?

I am a conditioned skeptic, so it's hard for me to say this will be different. I expect the same end result with a different look to it basically lol.

Craziest thing Carp did so far is play Everton at left back. And in an interview, he said if he wanted someone who can mark in the midfield, he'd play a centerback there lol.

Santos looking pretty bad in this 1st half vs corinthians. Lucky it wasn't worse than 1 - nill. Getting pressed and losing the ball too easy. Cittadini has lost it at least 4 times in his own half... pathetic.

Maybe the worse match I've ever seen from sheik. I know he's high risk high reward and even when people say he has a trash game he normally provides something dangerous. This was just embarrassing. Cassio looked suspect too but we already knew that.

Both weaker teams almost made it through in the Paulistao. In the Carioca they did.

Tem que encerrar o jogo e punir o time para esses FDP aprenderem. Dão o poder para eles interromperem o jogo quando quiser.

This is the most important Paulistão final in a long time. But TBH, beating the rival is actually more important than the title itself.

This whole thing with the fans/organizadas attending the "training" session is crazy. I personally think it's absurd. But I guess some of those proceeds go to good causes.
