Gotta love Valverde ... hard game against those thugs away and he brings in freakin Rafinha who his mistake lead to the espanyol goal ... the shitty options expanded now , can't wait for both gomeshit and rafinha to play at the same time ( and seeing how our genius coach likes to play gomes as DM sometimes i think it could be a possibility )

and why the hell can't we have a more specialized PK taker than Messi ? 21 wasted pk's is really high , there must be at least one other player who have better technique other than just picking a corner and hitting it specially that he doesn't strike it hard, some players check their run to see where the GK will go then shoot it.

One freaking loss and you are giving Valverde shit ? Good God !!!

Messi used to check his run until Goalkeepers picked up on it.

After the performances against LPB in the Super Cup I doubted if we would finish in the top 6.

Its actually the most tolerable defeat, its not the league or CL and there's still a second leg which we only need to score once to make it game on

Its easy to point out Messi teribble conversation rate but he has taken countless penalities. If anyone has taken as many as him, they'd have miss quite alot too. But yeah, Messi isnt great PK taker but he still scored 2 penalties this season against RM.

Referee made no mention in his match report of the object thrown at Cillessen.

That is total B.S. as more objects were thrown when the ref went to Cillessen to get him back onto the pitch, cannot have missed it.

I dunno...if I had to choose between Messi and Matt Le Tissier in taking a pk, I would not pick Messi

seems that pks is the one area where he is human ;)

Well, he only missed once in competitive game for NT and I dont think he never miss in El classico. When Neymar still on the team ,some people think he should take some of the penalties but he also had some ridiculous miss in his career. How many penalty Messi miss in CL ?

I agree that I'd love to see someone else l to take it more often , like Suarez or Paulinho but I wont be surprise if they also ended up missing at least 3 in 10 attempts. Messi has taken countless penalties, almost every single penalty no matter who's being fouled. The other players deserve their chances too.

On the flip side, I'd rather have Messi in the starting lineup than Le Tissier. But that's just me. :sneaky:

I'll take Messi in ANY competition against Le Tissier.
Messi might lose in one but he'll win the other 49. :)

read somewhere that Le God only missed one pk from 47 or 48 attempts so the sure money might be with the Southampton legend

don't really recall David Villa missing many in his carrear

Yes, I've heard the same about Le Tissier. No doubt his conversion rate from the spot was excellent.

As for David Villa, according to As.com he's top three in La Liga history.

Finally saw a stat, courtesy of beIN Sport.
Messi has missed six of nine penalties taken in Copa del Rey.
