Seems like that would answer both questions. Well, it's really one question. Is it this, or is it that? (offering the 2 most likely scenarios). But, thanks for the info.

Of course the premise behind your second question was terribly flawed...

Cameron is still under evaluation after suffering a "hamstring injury" during the Coventry game:

    https://www.rotowire.com/soccer/player.htm?ID=16320

He's had problems with hamstring strain before, recently, so it may be just that and he'll be back in a couple of weeks.

At his age, though, it could also be a sign the end is around the corner.

There were signs even before the injury.

Ok, I'll bite. What's your evidence that Americans regularly (and disproportionately) find themselves out with a new manager?

Oh, and you can't say Clint Dempsey because that's a BS myth...

It's a myth because you say so. Why don't we all just shut up and let you pontificate. He lost his starting job with every coaching change at Fulham.

But, I'll give you another. Kitchen was captaining Hearts, very popular player. New coach, he's captaining the bench. And, then not making the 18.

Can you name even one coaching change where Clint lost a regular starting job when the new guy came in?

Kitchen started the first 9 matches after Ian Cathro took over!

Changes in coaching resulting in changes in depth charts is a symptom of intense competition for spots. Does not seem to me, anyway, that Americans are singled out in this area. It is a fact of life for those wishing to compete at the top levels.

But, he gratdually got subbed earlier and earlier and moved to the bench - where he had been the captain and most popular player on the team. Sorry, didn't mean to imply "instantaneous."

He certainly had a very good start there (and was well received by fans) after signing with them fairly late in the 15-16 season. As you note, he was even named captain. However, he definitely wasn't one of the "most popular players" after his poor start to the 16-17 season. Those who followed Hearts closely weren't terribly surprised by his eventual move to the bench.

I followed Hearts as closely as you can from So Cal Watched every match that was televised here, read their website religiously. Looked to me like he got a raw deal.

Donovan to Leon at the age of 35? It's like he's the Bizarro Blanco.

Its probably too soon to expect Josh to get any playing time this season. Werder Bremen are struggling near the bottom of the Bundesliga, so its unlikely they find time for youngsters to get learning experiences. [Like Schalke was able to find for Weston McKennie late last season.] Its squeeky bum time.

I predicted he would get first team minutes before season's end.

    We'll see.

Sargent should get his own thread on YA

    My suggested thread title:

"He'd rather drill goals: Josh Sargent reports to Werder Bremen"

    What's yours?

Donovan to Sargent: "I'm twice your age, young man". I think Donovan is younger than Rafa Marquez, actually.

"Gallo viejo con el ala mata" = The old fighting cock kills with his wing (since he's far too old to jump and attack with the blade, or to peck hard enough --yes, cock fighting is barbaric business, but very popular most everywhere, until recently).

IF he plays enough, which I honestly doubt (I see Donovan playing five to ten minutes here and there), he's not going to be a fast striker or a counter-attacking winger. He's going to be an old-fashioned Riquelme-like playmaker.

With Sargent imbedded at Bremen and Durkin marinating in cooling sauce Garbiere til he's 19, I was wondering where Andrew Carleton would fit in if he were to go to Europe. I was thinking Denmark to pick up a wife on his way to Ligue 1.

Is it possible he just isn't cut out for Europe? I mean that in the sense that maybe Atlanta would be just as good in his case.

    Dunno. Thoughts?

Keith Costigan is reporting that Emerson Hyndman may move to Sunderland on loan. Says he's told that the deal could be done in the next 48 hours.

Saief looked good today, especially with his link ability at LW.

Finally someone Pulisic can combine with in the attacking 3rd.

Gooch and Emo at Sunderland. I might have to force myself to watch that train wreck if either of them actually play.
