I had this same sentiment about a year or two ago, but when guys like Davinson and Mina come out of nowhere it gives hope that it may continue to happen (just hopefully at different positions)

Overreacting. There is a beautiful crop of players coming up. Just that you haven't heard a Lot from them doesn't mean they aren't there. Nobody knew who Lerma, Mina and Cucho were, but I've been telling you all along. We might struggle a bit in the first two years of the next qualifiers, but we will get a lot better. In the FPC we have a lot of quality too. It's just a matter of experience and time that some good players become relevant.

yea but currently until they score for us they are *??**

I mean I had high hopes for Borre, Preciado(so pissed he went to 2nd div china), Roger Martinez(hope he kills it in spain) but they are more 2018 options maybe 1 of them will be in Russia

As for no one knew who Mina was !!!!

Kid was better then Davison Sanchez just didn’t play for Nacional so didn’t get the crazy hype. Won the Sudamericana at 21 and was a starter for our 2nd or 3rd best team for a while. Not exactly a no body

Problem is also hype. If you don’t play for a team in bogota, medillen or Barranquilla you don’t exist. Lerma was a true gem. How did Nacional not scoop him up!!

Great video on how we qualified to Russia . It's about two hours long but it's worth it.

25 + years of the same network tells me that the contract is rigged in some way. What are the monetary details/distribution? Who were the other bidders? Why have the contract extended now and not wait until after WC where the FCF would have more leverage?

Caracol has the right of first refusal so when RCN (second bidder) went all in Caracol just needed to offer 1 peso more and got the contract.
RCN offered so much that Caracol had to finally pay 40M US$ for the next 4 years.

Question is what they are planning with all that money plus all the rest coming from the other sponsors.

It'd be great if they invested some part of it for better or more youth tournaments.

Well, I expect mostly benchers playing mixed in with some possible starters since the France friendly is first and has more priority.

Pekerman doesn’t call a huge squad. I think that it will be a mixed squad with guys given their final shots before the summer. But I can’t see our starting GK, defense starting to build chemistry. Probably try out new MFs and strikers. Last friendlies I think we sent James and Cuadrado home after the Korea game.

    We play a 4-2-3-1

    Def starting GK and defense
    ——————Ospina——————
    Arias——Mina——Sanchez——Fabra
    (New MF hopefully)
    ———Lerma——Barrios————
    Chara————————-Izquerido
    ————Borja/Bacca——-Muriel

    Starting MF
    ————Carlos Sanchez—-Abel aguilar—-
    Cuadrado —————————James
    —————Falcao——-(we don’t have one)

Can see him trying out another LB as Pekerman is def searching for one. And maybe trying to figure out who his #3 CB is. Oscar Murillo or Cristian Zapata.

No to the bold. One of the two, not both.

For the experiment, I expect to see Uribe again, who's been in stellar form of late. He needs to get a chance next to an actual 5, not Abel.

I can also see Cuellar sneaking in. He's been in great form in the state tournament, and he's not playing so much as a defensive 5 anymore.

However, against France, Pekerman will probably go with who he trusts for the first half. Abel-Sanchez. If things don't go well, then that'll be the catalyst to push the newbies into the starting lineup.

Sorry I meant 1st MF is V Australia and 2nd is against France

Yea Uribe should get a shot but don’t think he will start as Pekerman really likes Barrios it seems

Lerma is wishful thinking in my part

I'm all for seeing a bunch of new guys next month...

    Maybe two very different lineups?

    vs. France:

    ------------Ospina
    Arias--Zapata-Davinson-Mojica
    ------Sanchez---Uribe
    Chara-------------James
    --------------------------------Muriel
    ------------Falcao

    vs. Australia

    --------------Cuadrado
    Arias---Mina--Davinson---Fabra
    ------------Lerma
    Chara------James-------Izquierdo
    ---------Falcao----Duvan

I am good with that too tho I want Lerma to be given a fair shot in the right positon. As well as Barrios and Uribe.

Yea the guys from Junior and Millos should get a shot too but seems too late for that.

Abel, Lerma, Sanchez, Barrios, Cuellar, Duque and Cantillo

Seems like a ton to call. The last 3 maybe 1 will get called.

So Osorio said no to extend his Mexico contract. He says other teams want him and that calls him more. He will wait till after the WC to decide.

US already has their new coach correct? Chile has Rueda. So I can only assume he means our federation is calling him to be like the job is yours depending on your World Cup results

He would be a complete idiot to take leave Mexico for Paraguay or even Chile.
