Too bad. Went to the Silverbacks game last year for the first time to see my hometown Armada. I've known about the Silverbacks games for as long as I've visited here but never really thought about going. Once Jax got a team and came to town I decided to go. And we had a really good time. Was really easy getting in there. Tickets were cheap. Drinks werent overly expensive. Good crowd. And looked like a great night for families as after the game, all the kids in the stands got to run around on the field and play their own soccer games. Might have been an undiscovered gem for an easy and fun family night. Obviously will not get that experience at an MLS game. And going to the dome for a game is kind of a pain in the butt... unless you're one of the few that lives next to a marta station.

Honestly I think there is room in town for both. The MLS team will give you more of the professional feel with better players and being played in an NFL stadium. But the Silverbacks has more of that community feel and again really fun and inexpensive evening for families and even just young folks who want to kick back and have a few drinks with friends.

Peterson has said that the group that was looking at Atlanta last year is still in the works. NASL ATL 2.0 could be on the horizon soon.

Well, good luck with that one.

(Also, Peterson says a lot of things.)

Mostly really stupid things. One time before a Silverbacks game when I was 4th official and one of the teams was wearing black socks, he asked if we were going to change socks or make the teams change socks because we were both wearing black socks. I shit you not.

How can there be NASL in 2018 with the Cosmos, Miami, Jax, Puerto Rico and maybe a new team in San Diego? How does that work?

I don't think he knew the Impact the MLS franchise would have when he posted that almost two years ago....

Atlanta, GA ( July 11th, 2018 ) – Thursday’s NPSL Southeast Conference Semifinal between the Atlanta Silverbacks Football Club and Asheville City SC will be played at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, GA. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.

Due to usual scheduling conflicts with facility management, the match would be played in the afternoon were it to take place at Silverbacks Park. Team ownership decided the match should be at a more accessible time for fans attending and watching live.

The Club would like to thank team athletic trainer Preston Bazemore for facilitating this change of venue with Blessed Trinity to allow a better situation for our players, fans, and viewers. We look forward to seeing the red and black faithful Thursday night!

Secure your tickets to tomorrow’s semifinal today!
