What's even more frightening is that I recognize all of them.

Im talking about African players WE SIGNED. We've just traded or let go all we had and none have really worked out. Some of the current batch were just a red card waiting for a whistle

If we want to stick with using only the player acquisition methods that Burns has had success with, then we're going to build a roster with the draft, waived players, trades, homegrowns, and "blind" draws.

Meanwhile, Atlanta signs Nagbe away from Portland while the Revs .... chirp, chirp, chirp. Why do I think nothing is going to change? Oh wait, I know, Burns is still involved ..... somehow

Knighton, Bunbury, Farrell and Wright have apparently all re-signed.

So while other teams get exciting new players, we're filling out the roster with the same old players. I guess it makes the equipment manager's life easier, so there is that.

The ambition of The New Revs is breathtaking, the Revolution is unstoppable, the Future is Radiant.
Soon the last bastion of reaction will fall before the brilliance of Commandant Burns: Jermaine Jones will be resigned, Shalrie Joseph given a second command, Stevie Nicols will lead our powerful scouting corps, Khano Smith will remind us all what it means to flank with a blaze of glory.....
This Brigadier General Friedel has been a revelation.

Do you think Nagbe is going to be any different in Atlanta than he was in Portland? The Timbers won that trade. Nagbe is overrated.

Dont get me wrong... I am no Nagbe fan at all. I have always rated Lee over Nagbe but $$$$ wise Portland cashed in. Im not sure Nagbe could score on an empty net if outside the goal area. Look at the tough deal our GM drove for Kamara...lol ... crap draft picks and a case of harpoon. My point is only that they're doing something while we're basically the same team we were so far.... less Kamara. At least our fitness will be good, even if we dont have a team

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not qualified to find and sign good players for the Rev. I do know a good player when I see one, and just about anybody can recognize a bad player after a very brief exposure to him in a game situation. I look at the Rev and I see NO ONE who's in any way special. We have had a few middling footballers over the tears, many of whom looked better than they actually were because of the ready comparison with the stiffs that made up the rest of the squad.

There is now NO special player under contract to the Rev. There also appears to be the traditional reluctance to even look for one. Burnsey will never leave this job. Where else could he work given his job performance as far back as the Near Post?

One problem that must be overcome by Freidel is the task of turning this bucket of warm piss into a side that some one with real ability would want to play for. I'm afraid I do not fancy his chances in this regard.

I dont agree with the no special player part. I think we have 3. I rate Lee, Diego and Rowe as the best three on the team and special. Sometimes Juan. When they're on, theyre as good as anybody. It will be interesting to see if their games improve with Kamara gone. Dont think there was any love between Lee and Kamara and little chemistry with the others either We'll see if things change

I do agree on yur feelings about Burns. He's already dragging his butt in signing people while other teams are signing them. I also agree he wont spend any money so I would tell Friedel not to unpack if this doesn't. change. Friedel should not be expected to make chicken soup out of chicken s#it. I'm already starting to get that usual yearly sinking feeling as I see us doing NOTHING ...... again. Burns should have gone out with Heaps. Our FO never learns

This dude either ISNT a LB, or has quite the eye for goal and is used in a pretty free role.

For the first time in a long time there are actual rumours about players coming to the Revs. Don't know who the players are, not sure if they'll be any good, or if they'll even join the club, but we actually have something we can talk about during the offseason. And new blood may be brought in BEFORE pre-season starts. I am excited about this!

There's a lot of whining about the lack of movement on the Revs roster other than re-signing the same players that have underwhelmed for a few years. Yes, that gives the appearance of "same old Revs". But Friedel hasn't been on the job that long and you can't expect the club to sign 20 new players in one offseason. The current crop of players has underperformed so maybe a new coach can change that. And the players that have been re-signed can be cut later.

I see many more positives than negatives so far. I'm willing to give Friedel a chance.

Hopefully this is the start of a few more signings over the next 30 days. I'd prefer to see one of those supposed "eyebrow raising" players signed. 26 years old with a good back ground in a decent and technical league. I am ok with this as long as it didn't break the bank
