Our new coach David Nielsen seem brilliant at man-managing, but seem absolutely clueless at finding the right tactics and game plan ... but help is on it's way ...AGF have now hired the Spanish "tactician" and now soon former Qarabağ fitness coach, assistant coach and chief analyst Rubén Sellés, who is going to to be assistant coach and chief analyst at AGF, when his contract with Qarabağ has expired in the winter break. he has worked with David Nielsen before back in 2015, when he was coaching Strømsgodset IF and won league Silver medals in Norway... and as written he has also been assistant coach + fitness coach for Qarabağ since 2015, helping them to reach the group stage in Champions League and the Europa League.

David Nielsen is probably the right coach for AGF, given all their issues, he was just hired for all the wrong reasons at the wrong time ... If he had had a summer break (hell, even a winter break might have been enough) I'm sure that he would have been able to find a half-way competent game plan given the material he would have available

Woah this seems to be quite a scoop. I know Qarabag have been a regular on the European circuit in recent years but they really made me sit up and take notice when they drew (twice) with Atletico in the CL this season. Well done AGF!

It was his last game for FCN ... he has now retired ...

Wow... kudos to Mtiliga. He's had a pretty decent career imo.

I didn't realize it's the last Superliga round of 2017.. (which means Marcondes will also soon be gone from FCN).

@Ceres Any thoughts on yesterday's game at Brøndby? Seems like cruise control for Brøndby after they went 2 up (spectacular goals from Tibbling and Halimi btw), so a draw was rather unexpected..?

It was a very open intense and entertaining match. probably one of the best games so far this season. Brøndby took the lead through an excellent goal by Tibbling, but then lost control so AGF came close scoring a few times and an attempt from Bundu also struck the Brøndby post so it could just as easilly have been 1-1 at half-time, .. the 2nd half startet much like the first 45 minutes with Brøndby dominating and taking a 2-0 lead, and then you would think it was all over, but instead they lost control once more and AGF made it 2-1 and from that point it all went down-hill for Brøndby, so all-in-all the 2-2 result was rather fair.

.. but that is how it usually is with these Brøndby vs. AGF games ... you never really know what to expect ... except that it will be entertaining... in the match in Aarhus this season, a Brøndby player was send off and AGF won 2-0 ...

Good stuff Ceres but sadly this doesn't play on any of my devices (just shows a black player screen). The only bold.dk videos that work for me are those embedded from Youtube. Thankfully I can still watch highlights from superliga.dk (and highlights for this match by AGF Youtube).

Here are the exact same (Eurosport2) highlights from bold.dk earlier posted above ... not the same highlights as posted by superliga .dk which only show the goals :

This is a shame... makes me wonder how many top flight clubs can the Copenhagen area support in the long run.

I'd say that Copenhagen area would just barely be able to support 3 contesting teams ... while it's not directly connected, note how FCN topped while things looked quite dire in Brøndby and recently started declining over the last couple of years while Brøndby restructured from their near-relegation ... yet at the same time seem to have a small resurgance this year where FCK is in the worst state than they've been in since mid-90s

First I just have to say... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA to Brøndby! We might not have had the best season but one year without gold is alot better than 14! championship must have been so close they could taste it (or get a tattoo for it :ROFLMAO::laugh:)[IMG]

Also, about the discussion on Lyngby, it is a shame if they were to go bankrupt but I am sure if BK Frem was back in Superliga or if Fremad Amager were up they would do better than Lyngby (although Frem had their bankruptcies and still maintain a good fanbase). I think that FCN probably hurts Lyngby more that BIF or FCK. Overall there are too many teams here for them all to be successful, in the top three leagues we have FCK, BIF, Lyngby (if you count them), Fremad Amager, BK Frem, Akademisk, Brønshøj, B93, Hvidovre ... and I am sure there are more I am not thinking of, but my point is that all of those have distinct fanbases that were bigger but internationally (and obviously including DK), interest in local football has dwindled and the smaller clubs will be the first to have problems. Look at AB once a decent club and now can barely keep anyone in that over-sized stadium.

Anyways, Lyngby is always a fun away, their core fans are dedicated and it can be a pretty crazy away but they have gone down now to a league that is more their level. now with Lyngby, Amager and Hvidovre in the first division that should make for some interesting matches.

The danish Superliga season is over .... FC Midtjylland sold for around $25 million players in the winter break and until the last 3-4 rounds it seemed like Brøndby would win the Campionship for sure, but the Brøndby style of play is very physically demanding and to me it seemed like they simply ran out of gas, while FCM gained momentum at the very end of the season. So congrats to FCM !

Last seasons Champoins FC København improved a bit after the winter break, but not enough to catch up with FC Nordsjælland, that finished 3rd ... but FCK won the Europa League play-off match against AGF Aarhus, and so will be playing Europa League qualifiers.

At the bottom of the league Helsingør not surprisingly lost to Randers (1-1 and 1-2) and then to Silkeborg (1-1 and 3-4) in the intense relegation play-off's and so suffered relegation to the Danish 1. Division, and will be replaced by Vejle BK.

In the other relegation play-off's, both the 2nd and 3rd placed teams from the Danish 1. Division, Esbjerg and Vendsyssel, surprisingy managed to beat their Superliga opponents Silkeborg and Lyngby and win promotion to the Superliga, so congrats to Esbjerg and Vendsyssel FF....
