According to Chinese media, Jeonbuk Hyundai are interested in three foreign players who played or are playing in the CSL: Mbaye Diagne (Tianjin Teda), Papiss Cisse (Shandong Luneng), & Junior Moraes (Dynamo Kyiv). #kleague— Viva La K League (@kleagueno1) December 11, 2017 Wouldn't mind Cisse or Morales.

Assuming Stielike as head coach had a say in this transfer move, I'm surprised he didn't look elsewhere to buy a striker, say.. QSL. I heard there is one of the world's top 5 forwards playing there. His name is Sebastian Soria.

Suwon selling Johnathan is the dumbest thing they can do this off season. They are never going find a prolific striker like Johnathan again unless they actually splash some of that cash (which they won't). They are pretty much going back to playing the likes of Park Gi-dong and Cho Dong-geun types of players up top again.
Samsung might not be looking to buy. K-League is dying, and Samsung might just want to profit from transfers. Losing Johnathan is huge but I don't think management really cares. They haven't really cared the last couple of years and their steep decline in attendance is a factor in that. And what is with Jeonbuk hoarding top talented goalkeepers? Song Bum Keun...argh.
Let's see how well he'll play. Kim Dongjun was a top go when he was the same age as him. A top rookie but he decided to go to the second division with Seongnam...
I didn't hate that move because despite going to a 2nd division, it allowed Kim DJ to get playing time right away instead of being a 2nd or 3rd stringer. I have hard time imagining Song BK starting right away for Jeonbuk.
Jeonbuks GKs aren't really good. Also, given Kim Min Jae's super fast career, I think Song can become their starter next season, if he's really that good. (Don't know how he did on university level)
really? i don't remember that. when did they get relegated? I thought he started out in the 2nd division, but I guess my memory is failing me
He started 2 years ago and he was Seongnam's main gk. They got relegated that year. If Song really is a real deal I'll expect more. They are starting off in the same age.
It took Hong Jeong-nam 10 years to get that starting GK spot for Jeonbuk. I'm hoping it won't take that long for Song Beom-keun to get that spot. Other than Hong, his other competitions are Hwang Byeong-geun (23 yrs), Kim Tae-ho (25 yrs), and Lee Jae-hyung (19 yrs). At this point, I think Song Beom-keun is at best the 3rd choice keeper for Jeonbuk right now behind Hong Jeong-nam (1st choice) and Hwang Byeong-geun (2nd choice).
He should've gone to Pohang Steelers or Chunnam Dragons EDIT: I would love to have him at FC Seoul, but we have Yang Hanbin. Kick out Yoo Hyun and have SBK.
Lol but sports is a hard business. Hong JN showed a lot of insecurity throughout the season. I don't really know how good he is, but let's say SBK really is a talent. Then I don't think HJNs 10 years matter.
I'm going to disagree with this. We might have had some shaky starting keepers for the national team (JSR mostly) but not many young guys were given a chance to prove it for the NT. I actually believe we have few underrated keepers in our pool. My issue with the Korean keepers is that they do not communicate and lack commanding skills.
I think in we have the best GK pool in Asia. Otherwise why would the J-League teams buy them off? We have the K-League GK of the season Cho Hyun Woo who's finally getting some chances for the KNT, Gu Sung Yoon & Kim Dong Jun from the Olympic squad who both have developed since then, Seoul's Yang Han Bin who really shined this season and also Yoon Bo Sang. Song Bum Keun could also become a hot rookie. So imo GK is not the worst position. Compare it to RB or CDM...
His FIFA 18 rating is impressive. 74 (highest Korean GK i think). I was impressed by him since his debut match. But yeah, sucks that he plays for a POS club called Gwangjoo Doesn't Australia or Iran have stronger GK pools?
