Lokomotiv Leipzig are an AFC Wimbledon type club. The old Lokomotiv Leipzig / VfB Leipzig went bust in the early 2000s, so the current version was created a very low level on the pyramid and they've since risen to Regionalliga level. Obviously, there is now a bigger name in Leipzig.

I've noticed that the vast majority of American players on non-reserve teams in the 4th division or lower are on one-year deals, so it seems Malone is a good quality player for this level. Lübeck finished 2nd in Regionalliga Nord, three points behind Wolfsburg II.
Malone with 120 minutes today as VfB Lübeck lost 4-3 on penalties at home to St. Pauli after being tied 3-3 at the end of extra time in the first round of the German Cup.
