Monterrey up two already within the first twenty minutes. Feels good to be able to root against Rafa Marquez again.
first viewing. our guy w a delicious chip that leads to a goal. I don't follow Mx footie, but he looks good so far.

fines more used to play somewhere in England? sounds familiar. Are there other internationals on this team? they are bringing it to the home team.
And as usual, commentators can't stop singing his praises. One of them said Mexico can't give up on him and must try to convince him to play for them. He aslo said he is committed to the US
brutal tackle by Ravel (yellow card) on JoGo....pulled him down by the shoulder from behind and rolled over his ankle with the weight of his body....seen a lot of NFL season-enders on similar plays...but JoGo seems to be okay.
Game ended 1-2 with Monterrey winning. The tempo of the game slowed down considerably on the second half. Very intelligent team. Our boy did his job and now they go home with an advantage on everything; away goals, won the game, and better position on the standings, all the stuff that matters on the Mexican league playoff format.
Also, one of the commentators, Rafa Puente said its not likely that Mexico gets Jonathan, he said "Edgar Castillo, Orozco, Yarbrough, Gringo Torres, and just about every one opts to play for them, We cant seem to get one"

Herc Gomez is really the top bar at this point for Mexi-Americans. For about three seasons he scored almost 30 goals. Whereas the rest have been squad rotation players at best.
oh, they got a couple of good ones in the past. Don't follow MX as much but one of them was an LB, too lazy to look it up.
There hasn't been an elite Mexican American player yet. Ponce would have been a big get for the USA program just because the position he played. He wasn't particularly good.
The reality is that there has never been a dual-national Mexican-American like Gonzalez who is this good so young.
In terms of importance/impact where does Gonzalez rate within our player's pool... If Pulisic is #1 what position would Gonzalez be?
Then the kid would be very important to get/keep. I would put his value a bit lower since we probably have others that can do his job but in a bit different way.
