I do find it rather telling that the only buyer that ACM was able to find was some guy who didn't even have the money to buy them. In other leagues billionaires are buying up clubs like crazy. In Italy we can hardly sell one of our most historically successful clubs.
Abandoned buildings in areas where population is falling is a very different subject than in suburban areas of the US where it's doubling in 10 years time but that's another subject. I've agreed from the beginning about all the political infighting ect that bogs down everything. I also agree that the stadium going forward quickly with just a bit of negotiations to get more for the city was probably best for the people of Roma. However, that Pallotta et al took away the infrastructure --which I see little hope the project goes through without -- due to profit margin absolutely begs question of what those numbers are before I'm going to make him out to be the hero and anyone criticizing the plan "backwards."

Grant Wahl was just on Fox and he spoke to Pallotta this week. Pallotta told him that he expects the final approval on Friday. As always, I'll believe when I see it.
The optimist in me says Pallotta wouldn't say that unless he legitimately expected it to happen. The pessimistic Roma fan in me says I won't hold my breathe.

"Dalle informazioni che ho io, che come sapete non partecipo alla conferenza, il clima è molto costruttivo, tutti i pareri unici sono positivi, quindi la conferenza sta affrontando le osservazioni dei vari enti per armonizzarle. Considerate che è l’ultima conferenza, quindi il lavoro è molto. Ringrazio tutti i tecnici che hanno lavorato in modo serio su questo importante progetto. Voglio dirvi che trapela ottimismo e quindi volevo dare questo messaggio ottimistico sulla conclusione positiva di questa nostra conferenza. La conferenza non credo riesca a finire oggi, molto probabilmente verrà aggiornata per concludersi la prossima settimana, o lunedì o martedì. È chiaro che queste riunioni servono per affrontare alcuni dei nodi critici, alcune osservazioni fatte da vari enti pubblici sulla parte più delicata, che riguarda certo lo stadio, ma che riguarda anche un quadrante della città in cui vivono migliaia di cittadini, che riguarderà migliaia di tifosi, che riguarda soprattutto la viabilità privata e il trasporto pubblico, che ripeto sono a servizio di tutto quel quadrante. Quindi un lavoro costruttivo che si sta facendo nell’interesse della città, anche nell’interesse della Roma e dei suoi tifosi".
