When: Thursday, November 30 @ 9:30 pm CST
Where: Century Link Stadium; Seattle, WA
Records: Seattle Sounders (16-9-12), 2nd in West
Houston Dynamo (15-11-12), 4th in West
    TV: ESPN
    Radio: ???

This is the second game of the Western Conference finals. The first leg was a 0-2 win for Seattle. Total goals in the two games will determine which team will advance. Away goals is the tie-breaker. If total goals and away goals are even after this game then overtime and potentially penalties will be played.

The Dynamo and Seattle played twice this year in regular season league action. Each team won at home. Houston won, 2-1, in the season opener in March. Seattle won, 1-0, in June. The two teams played one series in the MLS conference semifinals back in 2009. The first game up in Seattle was a 0-0 draw and the return leg was a 1-0 win for the Dynamo in overtime. The Dynamo have never won at Seattle.

The Sounders are now 4-0-1 in their last five league games (including the playoffs) scoring 11 goals and allowing 0. Seattle has not allowed a goal at home since September 10. This year Seattle was 11-1-5 in home league games in the regular season. They also beat Vancouver, 2-0, in the playoffs at home. Their only home loss was to Toronto back in May.

The Dynamo are 3-1-1 over the last five MLS games (including the playoffs) scoring 6 goals and allowing 3. Houston was 1-9-7 in road MLS regular season games this year. So far in the playoffs the Dynamo are 1-0 in road games after the 1-2 win in Portland.

The winner of this two-game series will advance to play in the MLS Cup on Saturday, December 9. That game will be in either Toronto or Columbus.

well honestly we got nothing to lose....Wilmer should have play the 3 forwards last Tuesday at home...not sure why he did not do it....so for this 2nd leg - I sure hope he put emphasis on more forwards - nothing to lose everything to gain. it going to be a long shot but hey most critic already written us off.

Balls to the wall! Shock the hell out of them with full blown attack. Finish the first 90 2-0, then Wilmer can do what he has to do... The players need to show heart and desire, even in defeat.

Score a quick goal, push down field, put them on their back heel and knock in another to give us the away goal advantage on our/finall goal of the night to make them cry for their need for two more.

Dynamo have to get the 1st goal, go down 3 on the road and Seattle can park the bus. I’d go all out offensive lineup because playing this conservatively and trying to pick off a goal here and there and get it to extra time just seems like it won’t work

There's a silver lining: I get to go to bed early.

    • The more money you invest buying players, the higher your chances are of winning the MLS Cup final. We will always be a CHEAP TEAM.
    • Will Bruin scores/assists... I hate Bruin, but I should be happy that things are working well for him. Then again, he has world-class strikers around him.
    • Old Man Sanchez one of our best players out there... go figure.
    • Cubo on the bench... that says a lot.
    • How this is going to affect ticket sales in Houston next year? Who knows. I don't see more butts on the seats unless there's a flashy big name player that people want to pay to see. This FO doesn't know how to sell the product, and Houston folks don't want to buy.

Good night everybody. It's always fun reading your stuff. (EDIT: Except for that political sheet, that mierda keeps me away from internet blogs like this one)

What a piss poor coaching decisions. First, you go conservative in a pretty much lost game already. They go down, he still doesnt put Torres in. You bring in Boniek, which is fine but you have to bring Torres at 45. Sanchez energy is just wasted in the first half.

our midfield is sucking tonight both ways

Leonardo is a liability need an upgrade at CB

Manotas can’t get free at all

Sanchez was our best player but no one to partner with

Bruin scoring is payment for the sin Canetti made buying Cubo

Dumpster fire the last two games

Seattle has bettet talent in the spine and are well coached - Toronto will have a tough time

This playoff run makes it hard to get a true perspective of where this club and roster truly is - the Orange Kool-Aid drinkers will shout “Western Conference Finalists!” but this isn’t a top 4 MLS squad and the way this last series went (albeit with some injuries and cards) tells me that we are closer to an 10th place overall than 4th

Wilmer pretty much sabotage his team. He didnt risk at home and he didnt risk away. Maybe he had a vacation planned for next weekend. Oh well the two most expensive rosters going to finals, shocker.

I’d say this - Wilmer wasn’t dealt the best hand in this series but he absolutely didn’t play whatever cards he had in a good way.

    Fun season.

Hey... we learned that Bruin IS a better player than Cubo! That was a nice little conclusion.

... So what do we bitch about this offseason?

Oh, we’ll have plenty to bitch about. This FO and ownership is the gift that keeps on giving. I will say that on balance, they beat the market returns on signings for 2017 and got more out of their signings than one would typically expect. That said, lot of loans and other temporary patchwork fixes.

I’ll do my long-winded year-end summary and outlook in the near future
