I'm not overly keen on throwing a young Ruben Dias into the World Cup but our options are beginning to look skinny
If he's good enough I can see it happening. Renato was 18 and got the call and played well. Just need to play him in friendlies first. Not just throw him in with the lions. It's amazing to see how much quality we have in other positions - Midfield and wingers we always had, but now we have abundance at RB and even GK. We talk a lot about how clubs in Portugal aren't developing enough home-grown talent but bringing back the B teams has helped.
Itw Ruben Dias has looked solid, strong in the air and great with the ball at his feet, but his mobility is questionable. Looks a bit slow. We need a Jorge Andrade type
Baffles me why Carrico is still yet to have a look in Manuel Fernandes grabbed his opportunity well, what a shame that his talent was so wasted. The fact he plays in Russia could massively play into his favour as Andre Gomes hasn’t been playing too well and Adrien can’t play until January
Gold was obvious because of the nike swoosh. Wonder why the number is on the right though if there is no graphic? EDIT: Just read Nike is doing it with all of their NTs
At least the new kits look simple. I don’t understand the all white kits. We should wear them when we face Germany.
Portugal Has had all white kits many times before . With the red details it is like the 1984 away. I like the kits .
https://en.onefootball.com/new-england-france-portugal-kits-leaked/ Do you think it’s strange that everyone else is getting two tone kits but us?
The other CB who could hit some form is Ruben Vezo. He was fantastic earlier in the season before getting injured and was on the bench for Valencia today. Marcelinho is a fantastic coach and credit should be give to him for the work he's done with all the team in particular GiGi!! He's so direct and effective, his style is similar to Ronaldo and if Joao Mario doesn't get more playing time soon I feel that lack of match fitness will become an issue and on current form Gigi will have to start
Fernando Santos called him in for the Euro16 Qual, and played one game, but not since. Maybe Santos wasn't fully convinced of his worth.
Mario Rui is a welcomed addition to the mix. Portugal overflowin' so hard with talent that we got players not even in the radar starting for Napoli. If Portugal isn't having a bad day, I really don't see any team I wouldn't be confident against. Spain and Germany are no longer in the 'invincible' brackets that they were previously, not close. The mental block against France should more or less be gone. Argentina's defense won't last far, unless Messi becomes God himself and plays in both defense and attack at once. Brazil will likely be the toughest team. If they're in good form they're probably the only team I'd be hesitant on against an in-form Portugal. When they get going, their momentum increases. And they're back to having solid players in every position. Really wanna see what happens with CB situation. Pepe + Danilo all day 4 me.
World Cup instating in Europe, South American teams traditionally don't do well in European world cups. France Germany and Spain have to be favourites, I feel we are in the next bracket
For those of you wondering... ...Colombian media is reporting that Portugal will play Colombia in March during the next FIFA date.
Baffled by the coentrao hate in here, yes he can be a liability but he’s already made 14 appearances this season and has played very well. Give the guy a chance ffs
I wouldn't chose him now given his injuries, but if he remains fit for the rest of the season and plays well, I'd like to think he would be at least considered.
