    Seriously....

On what confused planet do you think anybody honestly watches this sport (male or female) and doesn't enjoy, understand, or respect the 100% completely valid/effective nature of highly skilled individualistic dribblers...?

Knowing the elite levels of the women's game are still way behind those witnessed with men, I can understand your eagerness in trying to push this narrative of less sophisticated methods potentially being a far more effective theme for female coaches to use.

However, I don't see how this correlates to the idea of the entire German wnt program needing to be less sophisticated in it's approach, when the results of it's most adaptable, and best coached team (U-19/20), continue to outshine all the rest (other wnt's within the program) on stylistic principles that haven't changed for close to a decade.

I mean your talking about Germany's senior players lacking creative freedom, during a long period it's also seen all these exact same players flourish together within youth and club teams, all focused around producing the exact attacking qualities past and present senior teams coaches can't, or won't establish.

She was defending air for the entire 30 mins I could bother to watch this game lol. That Essen team were sent on to that field as a complete tactical failure.
Both Feldkamp and Hegering are long time DM/CM's, so with little protection around them it's highly unsurprising to hear about both of them being completely overrun by Wolfsburg's attack.

So I don't know if Essen has a lot of injuries right now, but with their entire spine being comprised of players pushed into rather unfamiliar roles, I don't think it made this match a particularly good one to assess too many of their players fairly.

From the 30-40 mins I saw, it just looked like a pre season training match.

Watching this weeks highlights, why do I feel like we're about to see another Wolfsburg #1, and Bayern #2, final league place finish...

    but on the sunny side, this season might be the best compilation of youth players I've ever seen in the league in the the last 4-5 years I've been regularly watching;

Gwinn, Buhl, Chielmiski, Siems, Schwalm, Hausicke & now Lussen(Bremen) all look impressive & probably several more teen gems out there. But then again, looking good as a teen doesn't necessarily translates success as a senior(as injuries rears it's ugly head)

Agree, seeing the youngsters like Pajor, Siems, Gwinn, Buhl, Lohmann, Pawollek, Luhrßen... all doing very well starting matches for their teams as teenagers is rather impressive, knowing it's within a league that hasn't seen teens feature so prominently in recent years.

But the question now becomes is this potentially negative for them and the league in the long run, having such young players being important parts of 1st division teams competing within a long and physically draining league season...?

It has the short term benefit of providing Germnay's next U-20 team with more established options; but as you acknowledge, if the senior coaching remains the complete mess it's been for the past few years, or injury staggers promising careers, who knows where these players go next.

Known domestic quantities like Hausicke - Bremer - Schwalm - Rauch - Gasper - Ehegötz - Wedemeyer - Schüller were all either left out, not used, or injured for Germany's last U-20 WC squad. And look at the varying levels of success they've all seen in the time since that tournament.

I think Kim Kulig was the last impressive junior level domestic club player from this league to obtain a prominent role with the seniors lol. Meaning other prominent names from that generation like Popp, Huth, Kemme, Faißt, Wensing, Prießen, Simic, Baunach... all still struggle to gain or maintain senior wnt roles...

    Wolfsburg vs Bayern today
I’ll give Bayern a chance because Peter’s probably gonna be on the other half
Wolfsburg’s in my opinion the favourites anyway

    it's hard to decide who to cheer for;

WOB is way more exciting. but I like to call Popp the 'busted flush' cause she's surrounded by nothing but foreigners on the attacking side of her team & got the feeling Goessling got undo pressure bestowed upon her with the resurgence of her arch nemesis. the all mighty Stefi Jones

on the other hand, BM plays such a boring passing game where I doubt they even take a good shot for the first 15 minutes/ It's just amazing that under Coach Worle, lil Leonie looks like a robot stuck in 2nd gear, where under Jones/Neid. she seems to be anywhere & everywhere!

btw..........while 2 of the league games got cancelled yesterday, I hear something that WON will have heat warmers under the field for this match. So hopefully game on!

Leonie looked great under Neid yes
but used as a midfielder by Jones in her early day wasting her potential away and then she’s doing some good performances as RB to get benched by the one and only Blässe... gosh since we haven’t heard any more news about Jones I guess she’s continuing in her job?? ..

of course she's going to continue since the DBF made that stupid public announcement that she would have to win vs France or else(now she could sue big time if she was let go)

Maybe she'll flub at the upcoming She Believes Cup? But considering that both France & England are a mess right now(quite a few prominent coaches have turned down the England coach & they're interim one seems to enjoy her daily trips to Mcdonald's instead of the training fields!).
I got the feeling only Ellis will take the tourney seriously. I hope though Jones will try & win with the same lineup/configuration that she destroyed France with. Look at that atrocious lineup from last game(Popp played AM to Petermann & Mittag at fwds) and the Fab Four on the back line, lol

The basic passing mistakes that Bayern does
Got pretty hot out there though with Popp, Wullart and Damjankovic

watched it on replay. Popp has a rep of being a flopper & perhaps that caused all the division out there? Don't understand why she didn't get carded when knocking down Damjenkovic, but then maybe that was a flop as well?

looks like Pernille Harder is setting the pace for WOB. Long gone is Kellermann's wide/wing attack in favor of Harder' head banging' attacking style & the major beneficiary of it is Pajor whereas Hansen seems to be struggling with it. Jones must be shakin in her boots as Goessling showed what a good CB is all about. We should demand an investigation by the DFB on what on earth Jones sees in Peter?

Once again it was Bayern Munich's slow horrid start that ruined it for them & why does their coach insists on using rugged, undisciplined Eastern Euros who don't seem to comprehend the German efficiency game? But then again Worle can't seem to get anything out his domestic players either.

So peculiar battle for the top, at least Freiburg moves to 2nd placeafter this round

Is Peter a full time professional football player? Looks to me like she started playing football one year ago christ such a poor player that shouldn’t even be in the NT or Wolfsburg lol

Yes Gössling and Fischer were almost flawless yesterday

What Bayern lacks for me is a creative force in that midfield.. I also struggle to understand why Lewandowski’s always in the starting eleven, doesn’t do much for me really. Too bad that Laudehr has to play CB in Demann’s absence... Her abilities are wasted there

Hmmm, still using laudehr in a CB role, I'm guessing Bayern have some serious defensive issues....

Potsdam clearly dominates over Hoffenheim(who riding on a 3 game winning streak. Looks like the defenders were in charge of this one as an assist by Elsig sets up Kiwic & then some nice work by Ilstead in an attacking role/ TP started 3 teens over more experienced players like Rauch, Schmidt & KK
    https://tv.dfb.de/video/highlights-turbine-potsdam-vs-1899-hoffenheim/20254/

newbies Bremen come through with a shocking, 7-0 win over Koln. Their 18 year old, Lurssen, is up for player of the week, but I got to go with Pajor on this one

it's Turbine Potsdam vs Sc Sands live. half time score, 1-0 on a wonderful goal by Zadrazil. Can't understand Turbine's coach though; he's only playing 3 defenders/ But instead of Eslig(who's been moved to left fullback( he's got the atrociously scary(in a bad way) Kiwic in the center back. Let's see if they can survive another 45 min. with this disastrous ploy?

here's the standings at the end of the first half of the season. Now they take a 2 month break. There's still a few make up games though so Freiburg still got a chance for #2, but got to beat a supposedly tough Essen team. Looks like Harder is running away with the scoring title, but Popp is now tied for 2nd. That's why i hope Jones keeps her as lone striker(like vs France) . But otherwise I do feel WOB is looking comfortable at #1(though this was where Potsdam wad last year, yet only manged fourth by the end of the season)

watching the Wolfsburg game (highlights) every good ball from behind came from Gössling lol. Like you said in the Wolfsburg vs Bayern game, she and Fischer were really on point that day
