That U.S. goal was deserved. The guy who got beat for the goal is the first guy Portugal has called up in quite a while whose name, while I read the squad list, made me go, "Who?" The U.S. is doing a great job in the midfield. It'll likely stay this way until Portugal makes changes because all its guys who keep possession are either on the bench or in Ibiza right now. Oh my god, now I have to feel bad for a guy on each team who allowed a goal. Horvath looks like he wants to go bury himself.
Ok, is here where the thread turns and starts calling for none of these players to ever get called up again? Ah, just the keeper for now.
That's pathetic. It's all he had to do. That's why you can't play guys with that little experience and proof when it counts the most. Imagine if he had done that in qualifying. Doesn't mean you have to play Tim Howard, Omar Gonzalez, DaMarcus Beasley, Graham Zusi, etc. either. There was plenty of value in the between.
I guess you have to leave Horvath in for the 2nd half so as not to completely wreck his confidence, but I think he just moved down substantially in the pecking order going forward.
I wanted to see Hamid instead for this game. He needs to start bribing people at uss for a chance, finally. Should have more money now.
Horvath has plenty of pro experience, his form has been bad of late. Or he may not be that good. That howler isn’t “proof” of anything.
You mean like when 800 year old EPL experienced and WC battle-hardened Tim Howard let in a 45 yard shot from some nobody in T&T because he was standing too far off his line for the umpteenth time in his US career? Lack of experience isn't why Horvath screwed up there.
