I haven't seen any Chiva fans asking for Almeyda's head. It's been mostly the media that has begun to stir things. Not only thin but some of the youth haven't been able to make the jump into the first team. I had heard that JLH didn't want to sign anyone over 28years which given the clubs current situation it wouldn't hurt to have experienced back up.

I like Almeyda and everything he has done for our club. The guy is a certified legend now with Chivas. Hope he stays for the long haul but I can see him coaching the NT or maybe even going to a Euro post WC next year If Almeyda does leave, I hope he has a say in who to take his place to keep his project & system going
This game and the mid week game against America are perfect examples on how our defense needs to be revamped.
Today’s game against Veracruz shows that guys who are suppose to be our experienced leaders and be examples for our young guys have been costing us dearly I’m referring to Cota and Salcido It’s time to start playing Jimenez on goal and send Salcido to the bench
So, only defense, then.Seems about right as that's been our most injured position. We are only playing with one defensive starter, so revamped is too strong a word. Just get a starting CB who can play all the games and does not have to be filled in by Salcido.

I don't think Almeyda would be first in line to coach the Mexican national team. Piojo Lopez and Turco Mohamed are better situated. This is not his project it is Higueras.
So, the rumours of Almeyda leaving flared up again with supposed interest from EPL club Leicester who are keen in his services. From ESPN: "Matias Almeyda loves our project, is committed to us, we have the same drive and pressure and I don't see that Matias Almeyda is thinking about anything else," Higuera said on ESPN's Futbol Picante. But when pressed on the Leicester rumor, Higuera couldn't guarantee that Almeyda would stay. "There is the risk that Matias Almeyda gets up and decides to go, even though he has a contract," Higuera admitted. The Leicester offer is now off the table as the club already appointed a coach. I don't think there ever was any real possibility they would sign Almeyda. IMO, this is just his agent making noise.
