Jannik Haberer converts on a penalty, as Freiburg take a 1-0 lead vs Hertha.

Oezil had a strong game today .... wonder if Jogi would put him on the bench if his performance is sub-par at the WC?

lol, how often does this happen.
Sami Khedira scores a hat trick.

it's even more hilarious when you find out that Juventus are down to 10 man, which means that Khedira scored 2 goals while his team were 10.

I like Khedira and agree that some want him gone like now. I'm sure the WC18 is either his last tourney or he'll play until 2020 EC and then be gone. Either way not sure why get rid of this player who's only 30 with tons of experience in Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A and International whether CL or NT during the WC year. He's a useful player even from the bench as an option. Would rather have Khedira on the field than Can.

also Draxler, Trapp, and Kroos are all on the bench.

Khedira's great, I want him to be fit for the world cup and partner Kroos who can't defend (imagine which player he could've been if he defended better)

I'm rooting for Norwich to make the jump to EPL. Would be funny to have a 3rd EPL club with German coaches, all ex Dortmund too. Also Huddersfield have like 4 German players and so do Norwich.

You'll end up with potentially Huddersfield, Norwich, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Brighton all clubs with 2 Germans min.And a bunch of others like Chelsea with 1.:p

as for Zimmermann he does seem to be their version of Schindler, seems to be doing very well in the Championship
Concerning Schindler he's been very good in the EPL. The transition of Championship to EPL seems to have been non existent for him. I do wonder if he might attract interest from other EPL clubs.

other reason I want to see them make a jump is to see how players like Zimmermann do in 1st division.

I am thinking the same thing. This will probably be his last world cup. Id love to see Goeretzka be his replacement and play beside Kroos. Do you think he can fulfill the defensive duties ?

I feel like if we play Goretzka in midfield we need a 3rd man in there. Goretzka is too forward minded and Kroos doesn't really track back much. It's a reason why Low played Rudy during the WC, as he was the one doing the defensive work. Khedira has played in that defensive position for the NT. So he at least does it.

and in the game vs Man U
    MAN OF THE MATCH
Christopher Schindler (Huddersfield Town): He was the star for the home side along with skipper Tommy Smith and did not give Romelu Lukaku an inch of space. The German’s positional play from set pieces was impressive and him and the rest of the defence kept their concentration throughout.
    PLAYER RATINGS
    Man Utd: De Gea 6, Valencia 5, Jones n/a, Smalling 5, Young 5, Herrera 4, Matic 4, Mata 5, Lingard 6, Martial 5, Lukaku 6. Subs: Lindelof 4, Rashford 7, Mkhitaryan 6.

Another positive from this match day, is that Kevin Akpoguma made his season debut for Hoffenheim. He recently return from that cervical injury when he was at Düsseldorf. He's a player who has represented Germany at every youth level between U16-21, and has spent the last two seasons on loan in 2BL. Perhaps this could be his season to breakthrough at Hoffenheim, and work his way into the rotation among the team's CB position.

I think he`s one of those players who missed this pass U21 win over his injury. Glad to see him make a comeback and in 1st division debut too.

Yes would like to see a kind of 4-3-3 ... but that would mean no place for oezil ...
    maybe a 3-4-3

I guess we will see in November ... Muller injured , Gundogan probably won’t be called up yet .. hector still injured ... Hummels is he also injured???

I recon we might see a Kroos, khedira, oezil midfield and Jogi might try something different for the second game

according to Bild, Hummels's injury is not too serious and is doubtful for German Cup vs RB. So unless they are wrong he should be fit for the Nov Friendlies. And yup no Muller, Hector, Neuer, Reus, Schurrle.

problem with Gundo is that he needs to get gaming time as in break into the XI. All he's done this season is cameos or sub appearances. Only started 1 game which was in the English League Cup. Although would be nice to see how he fares in the NT after over a year absence.

Would not surprise me if Low experiments in all 4 friendly games, to find the best lineup or to try recently returned players. Like for example he mentioned this month that Gotze might get called up in Nov.

I think our keeper and defense are set. All that's left is the midfield and attack and what formation to use for those.

although I believe that Low playing with a 3 man defense+2 fullbacks (essentially 5 man defense) at the CC was an experiment he used for the WC. He said beforehand that he'll use the CC to test out formations. And we won the tourney with that. He might not use it but it's something to consider. He also mentioned that a NT needs to be able to adapt and use at least 2 different formations depending on the opponents, flexibility.

    Goetze doesn't deserve a chance

I'd bring in Mark Uth, Max Philipp, Mitchell Weiser
