this everytouch is magic, please keep doing it. And hot damn, his a big boy and seems to have nice ball control, likes to run a people and is quick. Me likey.
I had no idea he was that tall. Damn. Would love to see him run with the ball because isn't his speed what he's known for? We are in desperate need of a left winger. Really hope this start is the first of many. Darmstadt didn't buy him for him to remain on the bench indefinitely.
He looks to be about 6'2 or 6'3, yes speed is his game. He is sold but with a buy back option at the end of the season.
nah, I wouldn't take money from you guys. But thank you for the compliments! It seems like everyone appreciated it so maybe I will do them again if I have alot of free time.
And what exactly makes people so excited about this? Yes, he always been fast. What else? Not much contribution to the attack, looks lost quite often, still the same athlete trying to play soccer.
You sound like you're actively looking for a reason to be critical, pedaling the same old tired tropes about players who excel physically. I'll bite though. Aside from physical speed his balance and coordination really stand out. Technically his mechanics are sound, passing, dribbling and receiving. Good tactical application of his technical and physical skills in 1v1 scenarios. Historically his production in the final third has been awesome. I don't think anybody is getting excited specifically because of 30 minutes of action condensed down to a couple of minutes. Not every player who excels physically is a donkey, but sometimes people see what they want to see.
buzzkill. I was happy because i haven't ever seen him play before, big stage, and seemed to have alot of confidence.
We evaluate players in categorically different ways if you think that's a question of substance. I have a question for you, in what ways does he look lost to you in that clip? What do you see that indicates he's nothing more than an athlete "trying" to play the game. It would be nice if you didn't mask your observations behind vague tropes. Use your knowledge to verbally communicate what you see in that clip.
He either runs into multiple defenders or runs off the field. Once again, what exactly he accomplished? He is fast and strong but not quick or skilled. That what he was 2 years ago, that what he is now. He isn't unknown that nobody saw before like Dest or Parks. What changed in his game to get excited?
"He's not quick." That defender he blew by from a standstill on the edge of the box probably disagrees with you.
Yea, you're being outright disingenuous with your first sentence and your confirmation bias is on full display in the second. I can accept the latter, and if you don't find him quick or skilled then we see things differently, but the former just makes this a waste of time.
I will not do that sir, but I do believe your criticisms of his skill and game understanding are deeply misguided.
Got another video for you guys of McKinze's touches, key runs, and defensive plays (in my opinion). Remember he only played the first half and his team didn't have much possession. https://streamable.com/qnv1r
He's got a little Gideon in his style, using that misdirection play a lot. And same hair. I'm intrigued, and he didn't do anything good, but just intrigued.
He is a raw talent with good size, there are players that aren't going to show much because they are not put in a position to excel, either the team is weak or the formation is wrong. In the final pass to him he is going for the long ball pass but the passer doesn't see him make the move and does a shorter pass instead. Now, who's fault is that, his or the passer that didn't bother to check first before making the pass.
I think he's an "okay" player. He can be his cycle's hard working, fast, athletic winger who isn't talented enough offensively to have a regular role, but maybe can give you some pace, size, defense, direct dribbling on the wing. He's not going to hurt the team in a Zardes way from that type of role, but I wouldn't expect all that much. I think we'll start hearing about his brother soon as a relevant prospect, but he looks to play the exact same game. I don't think the "Gaines" are the most skilled, but they should have good footballing careers and make a lot of money.
