And the only reason Alfredo Talavera, Marco Fabian & Hector Moreno were not called is because they're injured.

    Yup, that's their A-team alright.

Would Talavera have played anyway? Talavera has 27 caps at age 35 and Guillermo Ochoa has 88 caps at age 32.

That is a very strong 23. Add in Fabian and Moreno and that is a team that should do very well in Russia. Glad they aren't able to be selected into our group.

So, Honduras will be missing Carlo Costly, Mario Martínez, Choco Lozano and Andy Nájar to injury. Also will be without Rony Martínez, as there was a miscommunication with him and his club when calling him up (yeah, it was kind of ridiculous). Boniek García might also miss the match. Add to that the continued fact that Roger Espinoza and Jerry Bengtson are not in the team cause they can't get along with Pinto.

In theory, we should be smashing them. So, it'll probably be an extremely tough game where will be kicked around and either draw or win by the skin of our teeth :cautious:

Costa Rica-Honduras has been moved to Saturday because of Tropical Storm Nate.

Yes, the storm hit some areas pretty bad. Around 36 hours of non-stop raining. Most of the capital is doing well, but law enforcement is busy enough helping people without worrying for the stadium + a potential classifying celebration (those get bumpy here)

Thanks for the update, stay safe, and hopefully there is limited damage and injuries. While it's always a reminder that at the end of the day, there are things more important in this world than football... FFS Ticos - PLLEEEAAASSSEEE WIN YOUR LAST TWO GAMES! :D

 Bad news. Historically, once we qualify, we tend to lift the foot off the gas.

Last time we just walked around the pitch in Honduras, losing 1-0 without really looking like caring. Before that, on '06, we lost 3-1 to Guatemala (again, evidently not caring). In '02 we still got 4 points from our final two matches, but we were not the bulldozer that we were previous to that on that Hex.

So, in short, I expect that if we win against Honduras, we won't beat Panama.

I just hope you guys don't draw today. You'd kill the mood for tomorrow, cause we'd qualify without playing. That'd would suck.

Kind of jarring to see Mexico playing a qualifier outside of the Azteca.

Yep, Mexico turned the 0-1 loss into a 3-1 win with no effort.

So am I right on this. Unless Honduras wins their next two games, a U.S draw will see them through, unless by some miracle Panama beats Costa Rica by 8 goals.
