Damn. Rep for an entire post built on a strawman to go along with your regular dose of false dichotomy. It's easy to call a POV different if no effort is made to include comments by a poster. I didn't call you a shill. When your most recent posts often have holes in them and are defending ticket price increases, ability to expand the venue, FO interaction with SGs, venue design and more; yes, I will ask what sort of perspective you are bringing to this discussion. You're welcome to selectively and authoritatively argue posts and misrepresent viewpoints. I'm glad I finally know what your perspective is as I have asked dating back to your comments on Greater Greater Washington several years ago. No shit the team is a business, they aren't trying to ******** everyone over, suites and club suites bring in more than general seating, the deal was about getting a deal done more than getting the best deal and the views of the field will be better than RFK. Remember all of my posts even on the last few pages? For instance I acknowledged that I already have my plans set on how to attend games and park if necessary, but travel to the actual stadium for people approaching from the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge could be difficult for at least 3 years after the stadium is open. Wait... is acknowledging those things assuming the worst on each possible detail? I knew I should have acknowledged the grade difference when wishing the bike valet wasn't moved away from near an entrance gate. I wouldn't misread my posts or others that acknowledge reality or are usefully and informatively critical as being all doom-and-gloom or even "gloom-and-doom." Just read them as acknowledging reality. I'm cautiously optimistic about the stadium. I look at the bright side but recognize that we will have to figure things out and that this FO will be of no great assistance moving forward. Here is the area where the bike valet will be on Friday night Sunday morning //I don't dislike, Cavan. I dislike the fedoras.
@sitruc , our last exchange aside, thank you for taking and posting all the excellent photos of the construction site. It is a pleasure to view them week in and week out.
https://lafc.com/live-lafc-stadium-cam/ you can def tell the difference in structures and how cheap we went.
I have been re-reading the press release since my last post here since that's the only mention of the panels on the roof. I still don't know how they pull off those numbers. I know Schuff Steel is supposed to come up with all of the solutions, but this will be interesting.
I meant to include in my last post that Marshall Moya Design did not design the canopies for solar panels and only allowed the potential on entrances.
No - they just had to pay to tear down the Sports Arena. I am a couple of miles west of the stadium and it is coming along well. Hopefully they can keep up the pace and open up close to the start of the season. I am likely going to get two season seats - supporter adjacent. $34/mo. james
It is also easier to build an erector set stadium when you don't have to worry about earthquakes. All of our buildings have to be able to stay upright in an 8.5. james
There had to be some palms greased in the City of Angels to get the project going. It is not as if that area is governed by pro business folks.
I wondered what will happen to you once the stadium-ette is finished, shall we be looking forward to your blade by blade report on the turf as it matures?
I fully expect him to provide hourly reports with pictures after each rain between the time the filed is first leveled until the stadium actually opens in August so we can see how the site/field drainage is progressing
Are we still being told the panels will cover all of the canopy unlike renderings and what happened in Bridgeview and San Jose?
I know when they've laid pallets of turf over FedEx for soccer they often get it from the big turf-farm out by Dulles, hopefully it'll be local like that. Most good grass in DC comes from California or Colorado But some is grown locally. Or so I've heard.
