great comparison. i'm only nitpicking here, but if Zuniga-Arias is 9 to 7, i think you can be a tad harsher with Cuadrado's rating. the explosiveness that we loved from him in the 2014 WCQs has been well scouted by now but i still think he can improve on drawing defenders to create space for his teammates.

Can't really compare Falcao to Falcao: more like Falcao to Bacca/Falcao and that would be a 9 to 6 IMO b/c Bacca has played the majority of games and Falcao has only recently emerged. Despite Bacca's handful of goals and assists, i have been underwhelmed by him as opposed to back in 2012-15, i was very eager to see him get more minutes. yes our midfield has been shaky post 2014 - but he has gone silent in several games.

hard to fully evaluate - i get it; otherwise i love this comparison list!

I don't know this Falcao scoring rate for club is crazy and awesome before a WC. Dude is super hungry to pown ass in Russia. No way he is worse club wise. NT wise well again the team isn't giving him many chances so I feel that is harsh. Also don't agree that James isn't as good or better. The rest of the team doesn't work not on him

Also in what Galaxy and in which of our infinite universe is Cristian Zapata at any level and at any time better then Mina?

I think while healthy starters will be Mina - Davision

It should be pretty much the same list as last time no?
Maybe Duvan Zapata and a miraculous recovery by Mina would be the only changes I expect if there are any changes.

He needs to drop Farid Diaz who was injured then and still injured. Also Borja is in awful form he shouldn’t be called.

I don’t know about risking Mina. If we can’t stop Peru and Paraguay without him that would be pretty sad.

How many goals does Duvan have?

Pekerman needs to make a decision if he will play 2 up front or not. I don’t see Duvan+ Falcao working.

i would think so - barring no injuries after this weekend.

I have a couple of friends who are die-hard Valencia supporters and they told me good things about Jeison this season. Perhaps he rejoins the team?

i wouldn't mind seeing Duvan back in the mix - i really wished he was around for those June friendlies....

Teo doesn't seem to add that spark anymore that made him be Falcao's +1 up front during the 2014 WCQs - i can't imagine he's a better option than Borja, Duvan and any other 2ndary striker we have on the depth chart. the novelty of him being beastmode in home games i think has worn off....

what is the story on Borja these days - doesn't seem like he is digging holes and burying souls in Brazil from what i read/hear....

We should call up all the players who play in the Chinese league for those friendlies.

Machado would be another good addition since Diaz seems to be useless latel6y.
It just would be weird to see three guys from the Sub 23 playoff starting for the Senior Seleccion so soon.

Not sure if you are joking about the Chinese league guys or not haha but when we play in the US which use to be super often we almost never called a MLS guy. MLS is a much stronger league as well.

The China Game we might be forced to play a main roster because they are paying us to see James and Falcao. I would love to use a mixed squad for both and think about our WC22 team.

    But even a

    ————— Ospina —————-
    Arias/A—Sanchez—Murillo — Mecahado
    ————Cuellar/Lerma——Barrios——
    Chara—————————Izquerido
    ——————Duvan/Córdoba———

2nd half bring in our main guys
    -James for Izquerido
-Falcao for who ever is our CF
-A? I put up for who ever else is a promising RB.our other current options are older
    - Cardona for Barrios. A more attacking minded team against a weaker opponent should be what we use.
    - another CB who hasn’t been given a shot like Alexis Perez(was at junior now in Mexico), Cuesta or Aguilar of Nacional

Hope our main goal here is to find a DM that can pass and back up options for RB/LB! Another goalie would be super but at this point I say call up Mondragon, Zuniga and Armero :)

This is what AS Colombia says about the next convocatoria..

    https://colombia.as.com/colombia/2017/09/26/futbol/1506436855_612526.html

    As.com Actualizado a las: 28 septiembre 2017 12:06h COT

16 jugadores parecen fijos.

    Los fijos en la convocatoria
    1. David Ospina (Arsenal, Ing)
    2. Santiago Arias (PSV Eindhoven, Hol)
    3. Leandro Castellanos (Santa Fe, Col)
    4. Cristian Zapata (Milan, Ita)
    5. Dávinson Sánchez (Tottenham Hotspur, Ing)
    6. Óscar Murillo (Pachuca, Mex)
    7. Frank Fabra (Boca Juniors, Arg)
    8. Carlos Sánchez (Fiorentina, Ita)
    9. Wilmar Barrios (Boca Juniors, Arg)
    10. Abel Aguilar (Dep. Cali, Col)
    11. Juan Guillermo Cuadrado (Juventus, Ita)
    12. James Rodríguez (Bayern Múnich, Ale)
    13. Giovanni Moreno (Shanghái Shenhua, Chi)
    14. Edwin Cardona (Boca Juniors, Arg)
    15. Falcao García (Mónaco, Fra)
    16. Luis Fernando Muriel (Sevilla, Esp)

    24. Chará (Junior, Col), 25. Teo (Junior, Col), 26. Carlos Bacca ( Villarreal, Esp)

A player who should be getting called up soon is johan mojica, he has been playing left wing back for Girona and doing really well. I wonder how he'd do at left back, from what I've seen he has the workrate to play there and the tackling/intercepting abilities.

He isn't an out and out fullback and defensively he can be very poor. He is great going forward, no one can deny that. Two years ago he had one of the highest ratios of completed crosses in the second division, but you have to take into account that he was playing as a winger then. He reminds me a bit of Fabra, but physically the two can't be compared, Fabra is a scooter while Mojica is a train.

It would make me feel uncomfortable having two offensive minded LB's with defensive liabilities on the same roster.
I wish there was a younger version of Farid Diaz out there.

Not playing in Belgium and when does it’s at wingback.

Both our promising LBs still haven’t adapted to their leagues yet. Hopefully by the summer they will be ready
