The Benz is open and 10 goals have been scored so far. Now, we welcome 70,000 "plastics" to witness our team play our MLS-induced rival. Atlanta has scored 10 goals in two games. Orlando has four players suspended. I want to crush them for the sheer fact that they are not good right now and I want their fans to shut up. Only problem Tata has is Leandro Gonzalez Pirez is suspended due to yellow card accumulation. Do we finally see Boswell or will Tata shift Larentowicz or Walkes to CB?
If Orlando fans are hipster enough to whine "Plastic", they probably do need a gentle reminder of who's in the hunt and who isn't. I think they've bought into the "Rivalry" thing more than AUFC fans have. Can it be both? How is Boswell going forward- can he play on the outside, or must he be a CB?
71,500 + 2,800 SRO = 74,300 77,691 is the all-time biggest soccer crowd (New York Cosmos). Is it possible to get 6,191 extra into the stadium?
1-2 at the half. I just Googled Dominic Dwyer and found no reason to think he should be able to do this to us. LGP is going to have to tone it down a bit and stay on the pitch. We can't afford to have both Walkes and Larentowicz in the back. Haven't been this disgusted sine the last DCU match. Hopefully we can score two and win this thing. Losing to the likes of Orlando isn't something you take into account when you try to decide where you stand and who you are.
I see the roof is opened in the Falcons game. 1.Why wasn't it opened in the FC Dallas, New England or Orlando games? 2.Will it be opened in any of the 5 remaining games?
Cynical reason: Falcons called dibs on showing it off first on Primtime NBC. Actual reason: engineering regulations and such basically put the Falcons game as the first time it could be open. From what I've gathered, Blank wants the roof open as often as possible for both teams.
The roof is still not automated, as far as I know. If they want to open it and close it, they have to spend multiple hours doing it manually. So that's the first part of it. That would've taken the Dallas game out, probably, as a tropical storm was bearing down on the city at the time, so messing with it was almost certainly not worth it. For the other two games, I don't know. It was pretty hot in the middle of the afternoon on Saturday, so that might've played a factor. It wasn't even thought of as a possibility until earlier this week, anyway, so I don't know how the idea of opening it for the Falcons game came about, but it was a very recent thing. Remember, though, until they get it automated, they can't have it open with even the slightest chance of thunderstorms.
Also, Orlando is only in year 3 of their franchise, yet they act like they were among the original 10. Gimme a break. Love their SSS and respect their team as they've played ATL tough in all 3 meetings this year, but any condescension from them is terribly misplaced.
But remember, they had a USL team for about five years before this. So they're extra special. They have a total of seven years of history, y'all.
